On January 26, 2025, I paid ***** ********, owner of Poster Fix, $334 via Venmo. The payment was for the restoration and linen-backing of a vintage poster which I own. I have tried contacting ***** to deliver the poster so that he can proceed with the restoration but he does NOT answer multiple phone calls. He does not respond to emails. ***** ******** has taken my money and disappeared.

In February of this year, I paid ***** (PosterFix) $1,300 to linenback 5 posters. After 4 months of waiting for the posters (despite his emails claiming "I normally return completed posters which are in good condition within 3 to 4 weeks"), I finally get 2 of the 5 posters back. These posters had a terrible restoration job. I pointed this out to *****, He agreed and was willing to take them back to fix then. I sent them back and he returned them looking a little better than before. After the bad experience with the first 2 posters that came back, I asked him to return the remaining 3 posters untouched, and also send a refund of $780 (the cost of restoration work on the 3 posters). He returned the three posters (more damaged than how I sent them), but did not send the refund. I have repeatedly asked him for a refund for the past 6+ months and have gotten nothing. At one point, he offered to pay a partial of $400, but that never came through. Meanwhile, he continues to make ******* videos of posters he's restoring, so he clearly has the business to pay me. I have many e-mails back and forth with *****, but I'm only uploading the the few where he agreed that he would refund me. If more e-mails are required, I can supply them.

I respect the fact that this customer is awaiting a refund. I fully intend to refund him this weekend by November 17. In working with the posters I found that they allreacted negatively to the linen backing process.

My mounting process is archival and water-based, acid neutral, and it works very well for old posters printed before the 21st century. But these posters had properties

which resisted the backing process - which I could not predict when attempting to mount them. Sometimes, it can be risky to attempted linen backing

on newer posters, and I have a better success rate with the old posters. Newer glossy posters often come out with creases or air pockets, show bumps and dont absorb or expand in the right way. So After I made the attempt to work with his posters I felt that it was best to abort. The reasn for my lateness in refunding is that business had been slow for 10 weeks and we had no cash on hand. Business has improved since ***** won the election and I wil be able to happily refund this gentleman.

I am very sorry I could not make your posters great again.

Contracted a poster restoration service on 2/11/2023.***** at Posterfix promised to complete and return in 4 weeks. Family piece from the 1900s.Posterfix collected $1050,pp up front to restore poster.Poster was shipped via *** on Feb 13 to Posterfix. Item was received four days later After receiving he sat on it stating it was complex, which I described prior to shipping.Had to ask for status multiple times. All documented via email. Requested the poster back as is and refund ***** at Posterfix kept stating that he was stressed and having sick days. On 4/7 finally agreed to refund partial. I only received $600 plus the poster.Unprofessional business. If they cant perform a service they should immediate refund and return the item. All is documented in emails.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/21/2023

When the poster arrived it was rolled in a tube, but had such severe ripping and damage it could not be removed without more damage,

except with great care. I used my professional experience to remove it and found that the poster was in much wprse condition

than I was led to believe. The owner confessed (I have the emails) that he had not removed it from the tube

to see its true condition. I thought about the project and weighed the pros and cons of trying to restore it for the $1000 roughly I had estimated.

The customer seemed unwilling to wait, and was sending threats to get it done quickly, which I simply could not so. I would have

      tried to do

a nominal linen backing job if I had not been uinder pressure. So under those circumstances, I decided to return the poster unrestored,

and refund $600 of the money paid- with $400 being to cover the time I took to begin the work.  Someone with a poster with this amount

of damage should expect the work to cost double, and take at least 6 months to complete. After 40 years of restoring vintage posters, I still look forward to the challenges ahead!
