I published a book through another company in February 2024. I found Brooklyn Ghostwriting in attention to market my book. They guaranteed (per contract) 300 sales or a 100% money back guarantee. I asked if the book being published through the other company would be an issue, they stated it was okay. No issues. This package was the 6 month Silver Amazon Package offered for $800. This supposedly granted a spot in Amazons top list. This did not happen. A *** by the name of **** ****** sold me the package. Another named **** took over the project beside, then ***** among others and they would send me photos of designed ads, though not the actual advertisement displayed anywhere. Only concept on Project360. Every month for about 4 months I got this and phone calls wanting more money to add to the project in which I declined. I got only around 6 sales in total. I mentioned my concerns and that I wanted my money back and was told it has not been a full 6 months so it was not possible as they still had time to deliver. At the 6 month mark there was no more sales. I requested a refund and was directed to a compliance manager named ****** who was severely rude and unprofessional. Hes treated me will court. He contradicted himself multiple times (ex. I could not get a refund until after the 6 months was complete/couldnt get one when it was because the job had already been completed) and yelled at me, accused me of scamming them when I told them there had been no sales and I was indeed owed a full refund. He declared in their website they say they have a no full-refund policy. Yet, the contract agreed 100% full refund, 100% guarantee. He disagreed yet I have proof. After further argument, he gave 2 months free advertisement to fix the issue (no sales were made during this time) and a guaranteed $300 refund. Then, they required that I ***ublish my book. So, I requested my refund. It should have reflected on Feb 3, 2025. It has not.Initial Complaint

I decided to move forward with Brooklyn Ghost writing for their editing services. Both parties have signed and ***. In clause 4 of the *** is states that at anytime either party may terminate this agreement.I made the first payment through Cash-app of $300 and the second one on July 12th of $340.Shortly after, the company informed me that I would need to make an additional payment $400, for extra pages. Which didnt make sense, because the manuscript they would be working on followed the guidelines and word count we had established. Also because me and the project manager **** discussed, that I would be reformatting the manuscript. For them to work on. Which I had told him would take some time. And I instructed them to not begin working on the project. And then the company informed me of their distribution packages, that were very bizarre in price range. Which was not discussed before hand.I told them I no longer wanted to work with them and requested a full refund, which is under their policy. 100% refund at any point in the project. I no longer felt secure working with them, because they were adding onto the price. This led to multiple conversations for over 2 weeks time, of them trying to get me to continue working with them. I have spoken to so many people at this company, and each time they would persist. Then they told me they couldnt issue a full refund, because it didnt meet their policy. And that they already paid the book cover designer and editor. So they couldnt issue me the payment. But they never started working on the manuscript because I never sent them the reformatted version. Then last week, August 1st I had a conversation with them, and they told me they would issue a refund. And now August 8th they are saying they cannot give me the refund, and they are going to give me a coupons for $640 off of any future service.I just want a refund, since no work was done. I am drained from dealing with this companyCustomer Answer

I started to work with Brooklyn Ghost Writers in November 2023. They charged me $1500 to basically take a story that I wrote and help me to tell the story in a professional way that I was not able to do since I am not a professional writer or editor. My problem became that I had hired Brooklyn Ghost Writers being told they were in ******** only to find out that they were outsourcing the story to people in **********. I wanted a women and kept getting a man to write the story. The story I felt had alot of issues with them understanding what I was trying to do with my story. They simple would overnight the story or change it. It was very frustrating. It took so much energy out of me. I did not feel that the writers were understanding my story and I spoke with ***** about how he and the writers were not helping me but making me stressed. He assured me so many times to just give them another chance and would change writers. I wanted to make this work but in the end I felt after showing other people around me what the progress was that it was too emotional and repetatitive and over the top instead of getting to the point. Again and again I was not happy. I was also being pushed in December to pay $30,000 (which I didn't) for another Amazon best seller promotion only good till end of December as well as bar codes that I wasn't even thinking of. I told them I was not 100% happy and wanted a refund . After arguing with me about a refund they sent me an email telling me they would refund it and never did. They keep telling me the system is down and they will Zelle it to me. What company says this. Not a legitimate company. I just felt I tried to work with them and they should have done the right thing for me and refunded my money . I have now had to take my story to a real professional in ******** and have seen a huge difference in the story had how it is being told. In the end they just wanted more money from me.Customer Answer

I paid a company, Brooklyn Ghostwriting to help me write a 200 page e book to be released on Amazon.com. Order#********.On 7/20/22 I paid $500 to Brooklyn Ghostwriting. This was supposed to include everything to publish a 200 page e book on Amazon, including the ***** On 9/8/22 I was told that illustrations cost more, so I paid $1000 for illustrations. On 9/13/22 they said that wanted to charge $1199 for IBSN and copyright. That was supposed to be included in the original $500.I no longer want to continue with the project. They have provided an outline and 1 photo.I'm not interested in reading, using or keeping their work. I do not like the illustrations either. I would like to keep the title of the book, which I created and the 10 chapter title subjects that I have created and developed. Is there any way that with your help I can request the $1500 back as a refund. Thank you.
