Medgar Evers is unfairly charging me for a class/service I did not receive. My advisor registered me for online classes fall of 2023, specifically selecting only online classes. Days before classes begin, I receive a notification that the class has switch to hybrid, online and in person and that a vaccine was required. I specifically stated that this sudden act was against my religion and I was to be excused. I was denied my religion beliefs and despite my objection, was forced to take the vaccine in order to finish my degree. After taking both doses of the vaccine and submitting it to the school, I could no longer attend the class. I no longer had access to the course. I tried withdrawing and couldnt. After reaching out to staff, I was informed that I would be obligated to pay $960+ for the class despite not having taken it or receiving the service I signed up for. I strongly believe the college staff handled the situation wrongfully and unprofessionally and I should not be obligated to pay for a service I did not receive. Along with this charge, the college added fees to the tuition bill for electricity and classroom use of $470+. All the courses I have attended at Medgar Evers have been online from my house. I should not be obligated to pay for utilities I did not use.
