      I (***************************) decided to open up my small business last year in July 2023. i rented my store from the landlord at $3200 per month. i paid the landlord roughly $10000 with all the deposit and upfront rent and fees. this location had no gas line or meter. URBAN CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN located at *********************************, proposed to (1) install hood with Ansul system (2) install 3 compartment sink and hand sink (3) install gas pipes for grill and fries (4) Apply for gas meter and gas service. This contractor (*************************) agreed to do all these tasks for $40,000. **************** promised to finish all work within 2-3 months, we signed contract on 07/07/2023, I paid **************** up front. Today is Aug 2024, i am writing this complaint after 13 months of signing my contract with this guy (******) and up till today this contractor is not picking my calls. i have no gas meter in my store. I am paying thousands and thousands for electric bill every month because this contractor couldn't install gas for me till today. After one year of delayed work now ****** is saying it will cost me more money to get the gas meter installed at my store. When i(****) signed the contract with him (****** the contractor) we agreed on $40000 and i(****) have paid him in full.Because of this contactor I am not able to provide for my family, because of this contractor i have nearly $70k in debt which I (****) owe to my friends, credit card companies and banks. I am taking 6-7 pills every day because this contactor has put me in this situation. This person(Khalil) is literally torturing me. it has been *************************************************************************************** 2-3 months and now it has been 13 months. ****** gave this job to some local handyman plumbers with no permit they came and install the pipes in basement for gas 3 times and even now they are not installed according to the plan which the architect gave them, he has pushed me to limits.
