On 1/18/25 I shipped a package at The Mailroom Store, a local shop that I have supported for years, despite their notoriously rude service. I'll focus on the business infractions and spare you details about my overly-patient and friendly communications despite the ineptly slow and sadistic treatment I always receive from this employee.I was quoted ~$25 for **** shipping and the **** driver (who was picking up while I was there) was kind enough to wait for the employee to print a shipping label (which I found out later, the employee intentionally filled out incorrectly). He left with the package and I was ready to pay, but the quote unexpectedly doubled. I used complimentary **** Priority boxes and I packaged them myself, so I questioned the unexpected $25 increase in price. I was told it was for (a few small slices of already-used flattened) bubble wrap. I asked to see a price list, which she refused to provide despite several requests. She then called **** dispatch, tried to recall the package, and wouldn't allow me to pay.I never once said I wouldn't pay or that I wanted the package back; I simply asked to see a price list in order to verify that a few slivers of used bubble wrap actually cost $25. Despite my patience and friendly demeanor, she used disrespectful language and repeatedly refused to show me a price list, so I finally lost my patience with her and it quickly escalated to me yelling at her, demanding to pay. (I didn't want my package to risk getting lost without payment, a receipt, or tracking #) Interfering with **** is a Federal offense, yet she had the audacity to frivolously call the police on me. (Customers in the ********************** were not there earlier to see how friendly and polite I was or what the employee did to incite my outburst.)I was understandably upset and demanded to pay. It wasn't until I said that I will report her to **** ************** that I was finally permitted to pay $25 for a few pieces of bubble wrap & $25 for shipping.

    Better Business Bureau:

At this time, I have not been contacted by The Mailroom Store regarding complaint ID ********

I was quoted $24 to send a small package locally via ***** (The **** quote is only $18). I did not purchase anything else from the store, yet I was charged $54.

I was told the $30 was for the box and a service fee for packing the box, however the box I used was a FREE **** priority box and I packed the box myself.

I asked to see a price list as well as my itemized total, but the clerk refused to provide a price list or to show me the breakdown. She then tried to recall the package.

I was bullied into paying blindly because the package was already picked up and I needed the tracking number.

It is my belief that this clerk is over-charging customers and pocketing the money. Also, there is no info for this shopping business online (the building sign says it is a carpet cleaning shop and so does the registration).

I have disputed this charge with my Amex account as well.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ********
