This company is not practicing good business practices. Big Movers and Storage scammed me for $436.00. I have signed a contract with this moving company to move and store my belongings Union, ** on July 31st at 5:00pm. The movers failed to notify me in advance that they were running late. I have waited for them to arrive to my apartment building and they never showed up. The next morning on August 1st the movers called me to request the move to be completed. After hours of crying and telling them how important it was for the move to be completed on the 31st. I was charged an extra day for the inconvenience from my apartment building. These movers held my items for ******, showed up to my new apartment 24 hrs later after the dedicated moving time, wanted to rengotiate the price after I signed a contract, then after hours of talking to their manager they agreed to move and deliver with the agreed amount that was listed on the contract. When the drivers arrived to my new apartment building they tried to negotiate the price again and said they will not unload until they received payment. I paid them $100 deposit that the manager said was non refundable. I went upstairs to use the bathroom and make the payment transfer the truck and drivers left my belongings for 30 minutes. After sharing my concerns with the company and paying the final price $336 they came back, unloaded the truck, left my items on the curb of the apartment building then left. A lot of my items were on the property mulch, street where cars were passing. This company did not hold up to anything listed on the contract but wanted more money for the waste of my time.

We contacted Big Movers company of ******** via *************** for a quote on Nov 24th to move the contents of our apartment on Nov 30th from ************************************************************************** ****************************************************************** As you can see we were given a quote of $350 to do the move. However, when the movers showed up they started adding all kinds of charges. We were due to vacate the apartment the same day, so we had no choice but to cave to their demands. Once they arrived at the destination, they added more charges and wouldnt release our items if we didnt pay them upfront. We have followed up with Big Movers via email and phone to dispute the charges (see the email below). The owner is claiming that he had subcontracted the move to another company. Since he never received the money, he will not help us out with the dispute. He is also not sharing details of the company that he had subcontracted to. We were never made aware that this was sub-contracted. We will appreciate your assistance in resolving this dispute.
