On 2023-09-16, I registered for the Brooklynite Fall Half Marathon, organized by City Tri to be held on 2023-10-08.On 2023-10-05 (less than 3 days prior to the event), City Tri contacted me via mass e-mail to announce that the event had been canceled. They indicated a willingness to compensate participants by providing free registration for a replacement event in 2024.On 2024-01-07, I attempted to contact City Tri via e-mail to arrange a refund for the canceled race in lieu of a replacement ********** Tri did not reply.Throughout the month of January, I attempted to reach City Tri via multiple means: e-mails to the address ********************************* listed on their website (**********************************), texts to the phone number *************) listed (as "text us only") on their website, e-mails to an address ********************************************* from which I continue to receive promotional e-mails from City Tri, and messages via Instagram *** *************.In at least one of these messages, I raised the possibility of receiving free entry into the Brooklyn Spring Half Marathon in lieu of a refund. However, due to City Tri's inability to respond (in any way) to my attempts to reach out, I ended up scheduling alternative plans for the date + time at which that event is to be held. Finally, on 2024-01-30 (and after at least 7 attempts to reach City Tri on my part), I received a reply indicating that I had received free registration for the Brooklyn Spring Half Marathon. However, as indicated, that event was no longer a possibility for me at that point.I attempted to reach out to City Tri on 2024-02-17 to explain that the proposed resolution was no longer possible for me due to their lethargy in replying to my communications. I have yet to receive a reply as of 2024-03-02.At this point, only a full refund of the original purchase ($110.79) seems suitable to me as a resolution.

I purchased a race entry. I bought airline tickets, hotels and train tickets in ******** for this race. The night before the race I checked the website to find the race was canceled. No communication from the race providers! I have emailed twice now with no response. I spent about $2000 on traveling to do this race for them to cancel with no explanation. This is completely unacceptable.
