On March 20, 2023 I entered entered into a Service Agreement ("Agreement") with Ghost Book Writers "GBW"). The purpose of the Agreement was for *** to assist me in completing a book. *** agreed to provide, among other things, the following services: planning/creating/updating an outline; original content based on interviews or research; meticulous editing to ensure the test was free of error; adjusting the layout and presentation for publishing purposes; add up to 2 custom illustrations; unlimited revisions; turnaround time of ***** days and complete ownership rights of the book. *** agreed to provide these services for a fee of $3,499.00. *** provided a money back guarantee if: 1) the author doesn't like the writing team; 2) the author isn't satisfied with the quality of the work; or 3) *** is unable to deliver the work on time.Eleven months later the Agreement was still not completed. On February 22, 2024 I sent a letter to *** complaining about several issues/problems, including invoices for work totaling $7,748 that had been charged to my credit card, allegedly for ADA *********** that had been paid to ************************, that had not been given to me. On February 29, 2022 *** admitted that, since it could not provide a copy of the contract with Kindle, the charges would be refunded. However, since I cancelled the credit card charges before they issued the refund, this was not ******* December, 2024, the project still had not been completed. On December 12, 2024 I sent a final demand letter to *** requesting full reimbursement for the $17,367.00 I had been charged for the project. In response, *** refused to refund any of the money, which is a direct violation of the ************ conclusion, *** did not complete the project in a timely matter, it charged for services that had not been completed, and did not refund money that it had promised to refund. THIS COMPANY IS CLEARLY A SCAM, as is confirmed by all of the complaints filed with your bureau.Customer Answer

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Ghost Book Writers regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because: 1)We have different interpretations of how the terms of the Service Agreement are to be carried out. 2) Copyright and musical mixing and
mastering of two attached songs were to be sent very shortly after the phone call with Ghost Book Writer, but not received three days later.

Subject: Beware of Ghostbook Writers - A Frustrating Experience from Start to Finish I hired Ghostbook Writers for their editing, publishing, audiobook, and formatting services, having written my books myself. Unfortunately, the entire process was frustrating from start to finish. I soent $26,840.71 on this book but was originally quoted $10,000 The books were formatted incorrectly, with different font sizes in various sections, leading to an unprofessional appearance. All superscripts were missed for referenceing bibliography - i had to go back and redo all 250+ of these myself. An about the author section was never added before printing. Worse yet, 100 copies of my book were printed with these mistakes and had to be refunded due to poor formatting conformity. I had to personally resend a reprinted copy of the book with an apology letter to my first 50 customers. I was misled into paying a few more thousand dollars for an audiobook version and a Wikipedia page, which I was assured would boost sales. However, seven months after publication, there is still no audiobook and no Wikipedia page.This company is a scam. They will take your money and deliver the poorest quality product imaginable. Despite their employees having Americanized names such as *********************, *****************************, or ***************************, they all have difficult-to-understand accents and clearly work in non-American time zones. I am deeply disappointed in the lack of integrity ingrained in this company.I have contact the project manager many times and he states that he has sent emails to me regarding the wikapedia page and audio book but this is not true and I have no emails from hom since early March. I contacted them about their services several months ago. However before any work had begun, the same week I sent them the payment, I had a major financial disaster and I am not able to write a book right now. Keep in mind I asked them for a refund very quickly before ANY work was done. I was promised a refund months ago. Then I had to go to ******** for a family matter. Then when I came back and started catching up on past work I contacted them AGAIN as they had never issued the promised refund (again, I have not received and do not want their services). Again they promised a refund (I have documentation of this) and promised someone would call me about the refund within the next ***************************************** 3 days later I repeatedly called and emailed them and texted them trying to get someone to give me the promised refund or even just speak with me. As their name suggested, they GHOSTED me. This company is clearly a SCAM and should be avoided. They continue to owe me a refund. Until they give me the PROMISED refund my position will remain that this company is a complete criminal SCAM and should be avoided and also shut down by the legal authorities for larceny. I tried to have a marketing book put together by this company starting in July of 2022. All they provided me with was an image of a cover photo I sent them, generated to look like it was on a book via a virtual image. None of the content for the inside was ever provided for a proof, and it was all sent to them. Also, nothing was ever delivered in print which was what should have been done in the end but they didnt even get as far as a rear cover proof never mind the content inside. After reheated phone calls and emails, Ive never once gotten anywhere in terms of refund.Initial Complaint

Back in August I decided to work with a ghost writer in assisting me in writing a book, I initially worked with *************************, account manager Account Manager ************* ************************, Call: **************, where I paid a substantial amount of money, along with paying additional money for illustrations. I have had several account managers, who tried get additional money for services that was already agreed too. I have worked with *********************, who was very rude to me, and *********************, who never followed up nor contacted me. The only time I would hear from this organization is when I would call them, they never called me nor provided me a update or followup, until I either email or call them. I was told that this project would be completed back in November 2022, then December 2022, and now I do not know when it will be completed. Because I never received a followup or call regarding the status of the book, I contacted ***********************, who finally responded to my email that he was not longer with the company, but ************************* is my account manager. I had to contact their customer services, in order to have the new account manager to call me. **** and I spoke, but again, I was the one to initiated the call, he indicated needed to approve the illustrations, advise him about some corrections needed, sent him an email once I received the correction to approve. Two weeks past, not follow-up from ****, until I emailed him, and indicated that I needed to approve the illustrations, which was already done. I contacted their customer services this week, because I have not heard back from ***** **** finally sent me a text today, informing me that he needs my credentials, my email address and password. I informed **** that I did not feel comfortable with that, but I would need a disclosure stating that my private information would be protective. He indicated that their is a NDA on file, but no reference to protecting my private information.Initial Complaint

On March 17th, I paid Ghost Writers ******* to write a book. This included writing, proofing, editing, marketing and much more. The deadlines weren't met nor were the promise of 70% of all sales. The amount I made off my book was 53Cents per book due to the printing costs of each book. My book included colored photos and it was never discussed with me about the printing costs. Nothing was spoken about this. I paid them an extra ****** to market the book on a higher letter and have asked several times for it in writing as to what they were doing different than what was included in the first marketing plan. My sales are way down, and I feel that the marketing isn't correct. I can't get a straight answer from them about anything. I was given false hope and the service they provided was very unprofessional and I feel, very sneaky. It's a money scam from what I can tell. I'm asking for a full refund of ******* for the amount I paid. I have read multiple reviews and talked to a couple of lawyers that have read the reviews as well. It looks like I'm not the first person with this complaint. I am attaching the only contract that they gave me. I have texts and emails that support the time line and all the confusion on pricing. My book wasn't published until August of 2022, which is way past the 65 days turn around time.
