Good to know! I almost sent these guys $31,000 for a Tesla. Same info as described below. Doctor selling the car. Blah, Blah, blah. How are people allowed to continue to do this and not be arrested???

Same exact scam pulled on my elderly dad for a ****** ***** as reported by Nick A.
I told him that he was the one that taught me that if something seems too good to be true then it probably is but it's the dream car.
It got as far as my dad emailing back and forth with Dr. ***** ******, a neurologist in NY he even sent a Copy of the ****** for the vehicle. The name was the first hackle raiser for me as ***** ****** is a deceased author from NYC.
***** ******, MD is an allergist, not a neurologist. My dad was directed to this company's website in NY. That's when I stepped in because they were willing to deliver the car from NY to AZ for $600.
I had already told him it was a scam but he is not tech savvy and doesn't understand that it's easy to put up a website, steal pics, VINs and even order ******. He is also a good person and comes from a time when "a man was only as good as his word" and he is a man that honors his word and expects the same from other people.
Fortunately my dad trusts my ability to RESEARCH EVERYTHING. At the bottom of the website, it shows the date of inception for the site as 2023 (red flag). Under the 'Terms' section, it shows a variety of DBAs (red flag) which came up under a variety of scam watches.
It brought me here and this was enough for me to convince my dad. Thank you, Nick A and Tyler B for the added information. Even though my dad didn't lose anything but time, almost having his dream car and more faith in humans, it still sucks and is a much more widespread problem than just losing time. People are losing Money and have no recourse. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, FTC and the FBI as listed in the article in Tyler B's post. For anyone else, the link is posted below.

I believe this 'company' is an elaborate and sophisticated scam operation. I came across it when I saw ads for a Porsche Boxter in Texas on Craigslist at a price that was very aggressive. It was one of those "too-good-to-be-true" prices, so I was cautious. I sent an inquiry via the CL ad and was directed to a guy who claimed to be a NY neurologist. I googled the name, and found a doctor by that name in New York, but the real doctor is an allergist, not a neurologist.
I asked him, via email, why there were two different ads for the exact same car in Texas with slightly different prices. He didn't answer that, but directed me to East Coast Motors Broker website and said they are selling the car for him. I looked back at Craiglist and found that both ads had now been deleted.
Curious, I started clicking on East Coast Motors Website. It's odd there are no prices listed and you are promoted to "make an offer." Growing more suspicious, I googled the VIN numbers of several vehicles. All of them were sold by other dealers, and East Coast Motors Broker is using the exact same photos that were posted on those archived ads (except the watermark from the other dealer is cropped off). Some ads I found were 3-4 years old, yet they are representing these photos as their own. You can see the age of the ad by clicking on walk around videos that are youtube videos. The video on YouTube tells you when it was posted.
They have only 62 cars, yet they have a huge staff, according to their website. The staff photos look a little fake. Also, there are no bios.
If you google their address, you can see on google maps that there is no car lot at that location.
And, of course, the BBB says they don't have the necessary state license to operate.
    Lots of red flags.
Their website doesn't stand up to real scrutiny. I would not give this dealership a dime unless you actually see a car in person and can physically visit the showroom.

    This company is fraudulent. https://www.bbb.org/article/news-releases/22962-virtual-vehicle-vendor-scams
They are very convincing but after further research have no business license.
