      This has been the worse experience working with a contractor ever! I hired Malik S****** to complete a full roof tear off on a property recently purchased. Malik had sent a list of materials to purchase from **** ***** for $6k, the labor was almost an additional 11k. He started the work and went back to **** ***** several times exchanging items as needed. My partner had noticed one receipt included a purchase of a $200 Bluetooth speaker...?? When I asked why our money was being used to purchase materials that had nothing to do with roofing materials, Malik apologized but never compensated us for the error. I immediately asked for the work to be stopped as we no longer trusted his work ethics. Malik also tried to force us to use a certain gutter type that wasn't explained during the time of contract or purchasing materials. I believe we made the right decision by ending the contract as what was asked; was not fulfilled.
      Almost 4 months later, a City of Buffalo inspector contacts us, and said he would NOT close out the work permit due to the roof ridge line not being properly shingled. When I contacted Malik to make him aware, he advised his truck was totaled and it would be 4 weeks until he could fix the issue. SIX WEEKS later and still NO REPAIRS from him and rain is now leaking into the house. I contacted Malik again and he said my issue is the gutters and not the roof. ?????I sent pictures showing where the shingles lifted from the ridge and he still only focused on the gutters. The level of deflection from this contractor Malik S****** is sad. When I gave Malik the feedback of the inspector, we even asked for quote for other carpentry work just to show it was no bad feelings on our part, hoping we could reconcile. Malik has used our property as his marketing campaign on social media and his website; yet us, the property owners are completely dissatisfied with the quality of work. Next stop, court! Sorry not sorry. Beware if you hire Contractor Alchemist!!

      Dear ******* we regret to inform you that legal action will be taken against you for defamation of character due to your neglect of both the contract and your home. It is important to note that we cannot be held responsible for a roof that was not properly safeguarded with gutters, as shingles are not waterproof and require proper maintenance.
      Despite our warning on November 15, 2023, to install gutters, you failed to do so, resulting in the invalidation of your contract. The issues you experienced in April, four months after installation, were a direct result of neglecting your home, not due to our workmanship.
      We responded to your concerns free of charge, yet you still did not fulfill your obligations as a homeowner by installing the necessary gutters. Taking out your frustration on our company through defamation of character and abandoning the contract will not be tolerated, and appropriate action will be taken. We apologize for any inconvenience and will strive to prevent such issues in the future.
      In addition, we provided a complimentary 200sq ft roofing & framing installation at no cost. It is disheartening to hear accusations of stealing or misusing funds, as our goal is to support our community by offering assistance.
