****** ********* paid Ingersoll-Rand to repair this unit in November. The quoted repair price in November was $2,197.00. The final invoice was $3,512.30 and there was no notice of a deviation from the quote. It was discovered on Monday 3/18 that the recently repaired dryer unit is exhibiting a High Temp alarm once again. We were invoiced an exhororant amount of money to repair this unit in November of 2023 for the same issue that it has today. We have now experienced the High Temp issue with this unit at least three times since it was purchased. Below are the amounts *** has been invoiced for repairs since the unit was installed in August of 2019.

      June 2021 - $1,200.90
      July 2021 - $3,000.83
      December 2021 - $1,359.25
      November 2023 - $3,512.30

The vendor stated that they would warranty the parts but not the labor. This is not acceptable. ****** ********* brought in a different vendor to make the repair at a cost of $1,438.66. We would like all $3,512.30 refunded from Ingersoll-Rand for the November service that was not performed correctly. We have asked this of Ingersoll-Rand and have received no answer.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/13/2024

Please see attached communication with customer. It is not accurate that we stated we would only warranty the parts. The customer decided to have another company complete the repair after we had stated that if this were the same issue it would be covered. The ultimate root cause of the issues were the location and ambient conditions that the unit was exposed to. This was brought up to customer for nearly three years in emails, phone conversations, and service summary reports. The customer opted not to move the air dryer to a more suitable location. Thank you.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The vendor did not indicate to ****** ********* at the time of installation that the location of the unit was not satisfactory.  The vendor signed off on acceptance at the time of installation.  A previous unit functioned properly in the same location for 5+ years.  The current unit has had issues multiple times since installation and should have been replaced with a new unit under warranty but the vendor did not take that action.  ****** ********* Industries wants credit for the service call on November 21.  This is invoice ******** in the amount of $3,512.30 as this service call was completed incorrectly and resulted in ****** ********* paying a third party to repair this work.
      Regards,

      **** *******
