      On 8/13/22 Greg F*****, owner of The Original Erie Fence Co came to my property to give me an estimate for fence repair. His estimate of $820 was agreeable to me and I signed a contract with him in which he stated work would be completed in 6-8 weeks weather permitting. I gave him a $400 deposit, with a balance of $420 to be paid upon completion of the job.
      After not hearing anything from Mr. F***** since we signed the contract agreement, I called him on 9/24/22 (6 weeks after contract signing) and left him a message. He didn't return my call until 10/2/22 stating due to the weather he will need at least 2 more weeks. I stated fine, in anticipation of job being done by 10/16/22.
      Hadn't heard from Mr. F***** again so I called him on 10/17/22 (over 9 weeks from contract inception) and left him a message. He called me back on 10/18/22 stating due to the weather he'll need another 2 weeks. I told him he has told me that the last 2 times I've spoken to him. He told me he doesn't have a crystal ball to let me know when weather will permit him doing the job. I asked him to give me a definite date as to when job will be completed and he started telling me he is a small company, been in business for 50 years, he has other customers also waiting and I need to be patient. I asked him if I could get a refund and he said absolutely not. I told him I see why he has terrible reviews, and that I was sorry I didn't read the reviews prior to hiring him. He started yelling and screaming and talking over me, so I just hung up the phone. This man is a horrible business person and I really feel he has taken advantage of me and is ripping me off of my $400 deposit. I don't know what other recourse I have. The property I'm trying to have the fence repaired is inherited property that I don't even reside in. I live in Los Angeles CA and it is extremely frustrating trying to deal with this Vendor who doesn't appear to be making any effort to start and complete this job.
