I've been in Buffalo for 13 years and it's my first time to encounter w/ such a very bad customer service from a toy store, Raff and Friends, located inside the Eastern Hills Mall in Transit Road, Williamsville, NY. My husband purchased a stuffed animal on Friday, Sept 29, 2023, for my daughter. Upon arriving home, my daughter said that it's not the right one that she was looking for. I was going to go back to the store on the same day but the store closed at 6PM. I could not get out early from work. I had other impt priorities to do. Same happened on that wknd, I had so much to do as a working mother. October 2, 2023, I had to make sure to rush to the store before it closed. I had to drive 20 mins from my place to the store. When I arrived, there was this unfriendly worker by herself, who I can tell just by looking at me that she was already in a bad mood. I assumed she was not happy while seeing me carrying a blue bag for return. When I took it out from the bag, I heard a high tune of voice telling me, "We do not accept Plush returns." I was surprised since from what I read there is a 7 day window for returns. I haven't known that there is such kind of policy for a toy store of not accepting "plush". Her reason is "What if you have covid?!" When she said that to me, all I was hearing from her was a "freaking out" voice. Like someone who provokes a fight. I honestly feel I am talking to someone who is a racist. After reading reviews, I am not alone feeling that way. She told me that she is the owner. I wonder how she runs a toy store business when she does not have a good customer service at all. First of all, train your voice to calm down esp when the customer is being nice. No one started an argument but she did. 2nd of all, when was the COVID-19 restrictions lifted here in Western New York? It's been Oct 2023 already yet she still makes excuses for not letting items to be returned due to COVID? I read bad reviews about her being a Germophobic. Avoid this store.
