    I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Automotive Schindler, Auto Repair & Maintenance at 354 Main St Cairo NY 12413 on 01/05/2024.
    I dropped off my 2003 **** ****** with a 8 am appointment to get a written estimate and that never happened.
    The mechanic called me around 3 pm asking for a payment of $83.43 to give me the keys of my vehicle. At no time I was given an estimate. However, when I picked up my vehicle, I found a receipt with charges charged and my vehicle malfunctioning.
    I am very disappointed with the service I received at Schindler Automotive, Edward Schindler mechanic and owner.
    I have attached a copy of Schindler's Automotive receipt, also the NY State law regarding estimates and charges.
    NOTE: Schindler's Automotive charged me and never gave me a written estimate for the repairs. Saying,
    "if you want the keys of your vehicle you have to pay me, otherwise I won't give it to you, you have 15 minutes."
    Knowing that this was something that not followed the Consumer's Bill of Rights in NY and in order to get my vehicle back I paid. But since I didn't receive any work order from Schindler Automotive workshop, nor a written estimate from the mechanic and owner Edward Schindler.
    I am asking for immediate clarification of this issue and payment for my loss.
    I am requesting that the mechanic pay the cost of the taxi $60, because I had to leave my vehicle and pick it up in the afternoon. And also the charges charged on my credit card $83.43.
    I am available to discuss this matter further when appropriate.

    In response to the complaint against me.The customer made an appointment to have her vehicle checked for 3 complaints.It was dropped off on a Friday morning for the check over.We looked over the car and came up with a list of things that we recommended.The car is 21 years old and the list was going to be very expensive, so I call her in the early afternoon and gave her the list verbally.She said she needed to get a ride back up to the shop, and wasn't sure when she could get there, we close at 4 on Friday.So I told her she owed me $75 plus tax for looking the car over and letting her know what was wrong with it(verbally!)A couple of weeks later I got a charge back from her credit card, was annoyed,  but chalked it up to not doing the proper paperwork and writing it all down.Then I got your complaint, with all her contact information and gave her a call and questioned her what the problem was and she said i didnt give a written estmatefor all the work. She then proceeded to tell me that she picked up the vehicle while we were still open and I asked her why she didnt just come in and talk to me about it(which would haveresolved the problem very quickly) I would have had no problem jotting down the issues with the car.She said she wasn't going to step foot in my shop again.My opinion is that she got a long list of issues with the car(verbally!) and didnt like what she heard and didnt think she should pay me for the time necessary to check over her car.In closing, if she would have come in or called me again I would have explained the list to her again, and if she really wanted an estimate I would have done that too.I never even got a feeling that there was a problem until I got the chargeback.This could have been resolved much simpler.

There is no evidence of any type of service.

    She stopped payment for the service rendered, which was looking over the car for the problems, I verbally gave them to her.
    I'm not providing a written estimate without getting paid for the time spent to professionally check the car over.
    If she wants to pay me for the time spent, i would gladly provide her with a written estimate.
