My 86-year-old husband had a severe stroke, was hospitalized for 4 1/2 months. On May 6, 2022, our three-story old home flooded from the 3rd floor down to the basement. I could only find one contractor to repair, restore of replace ceilings, walls, floors. Tom N**** of Finish Solution agreed to begin work on June 3, 2022. When we met, he measured the damaged areas and gave me directions about the supplies to order. He said he could complete the job in a few days to a week. We had several phone calls, texts, emails in preparation for his arrival on June 3rd. At no time did he tell me that he was also in the midst of several ongoing painting contracts that would interrupt his work on our home. Tom N**** began work on June 3, 2022. He worked varied hours on June 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14 because he had other ongoing jobs in progress. I was able to arrange for and pay for two helpers to tear up and remove sodden carpeting and assist him completing portions of his work. All of our furnishings that were in the wrecked rooms were crowded into unaffected rooms and it was difficult to function, since I could not reach files and equipment, nor have any semblance of ordinary life. During the short time Tom N**** was with us, he gave me the final paint order and I bought the specific paint where he directed me to go to purchase. We have gallons of unopened non-returnable paint and supplies. I gave Tom a deposit for $3,200 on June 7, 2022, based upon the estimate for completion of all the work. On June 14th Tom N**** injured himself and subsequently he told me he would have to have surgery. He returned in July to retrieve his truck. No room was completed before Tom N**** left. I cannot complete my insurance reimbursement, since Tom N**** will not provide me the information they require, which I have requested many times. Nor has he returned the balance owed back to me for uncompleted work, which I have paid to have completed by others. Nor is he willing to give me his address.
