    I am very unhappy about the recent work done by Utech Waterproofing. Utech’s estimates were poorly done; the foreman/Project Manager was aggressive and rude; and Utech unnecessarily took out an old laundry tub and replaced it with a new one that doesn’t work. I want a refund to fix the plumbing work done by Utech on the new tub.
    Utech came to our house on June 7, 2022, to prepare an estimate for putting in drain tile around the basement perimeter and adding eight I-beam supports. The estimate included charges for engineering drawings and inspection that had already been done by another contractor (which they knew). On July 7, Utech sent me a revised estimate without the incorrect $850 fee for engineering drawings and inspection, but which included math errors. On July 9, Utech sent me yet another revised estimate.
    I accepted the revised estimate ($23,211), made a deposit of almost $7,000, and Utech began work on August 8. Among other items, Utech charged me $850 to install a new, plastic laundry tub. Even though the old concrete tub we had worked just fine, which I pointed out, Utech insisted that they remove and replace it. When Utech finished their work at our house on August 11, I was told the new tub was working, but it backed up the first time I used the washer and took all day to fully drain.
    When the foreman came back to discuss the malfunctioning tub with me, he angrily denied that the tub drainage was their problem and told me to contact a plumber. (We have had to wash our clothes at a laundromat in the meantime.)
    I hired a new plumber, who explained that the existing laundry pump wouldn’t work with the new tub and plastic lines. The new drain line installed by Utech is oversized for the discharge line. ******* ******** has given me an estimate of $1,075 to install a new pump and a new discharge line that matches the new line feeding the tub; I am very unhappy with Utech’s work and want a refund for the amount I need to fix the tub plumbing problem.
