On or around Dec. 22nd and March 6th the snow plow removed some of my yard dirt and moved it to the other side of the driveway. The stone walkway up to my stairs were damaged to the point that it became a tripping hassard. We notified the company several times to see if they would repair it. Finally, after asking for insurance infomation, the owner came out and viewed the damage (we had sent him photos after the two different instances). He looked at the damage (that had scape marks from the plow) and said that the damage was due to water and ice, and refused to fix the damage. Since this is a place of business the damaged needed to be repaired so it was not a tripping hassard. We had to have another contractor come out and repair the stairs which will cost 350.00 (do not have that bill yet, but if needed we can send as soon as we get it) We paid the snow plow company (Class A Property Maintenance) 400.00 for the year. I would like to be refunded the cost of the repair that he refused to take care of from what I paid him back in Nov. 2022 for this last winter.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/02/2023

BBB spoke to the owner of the business and the following was relayed: Me and my guy went out there to take a look.  There's no damage to the stairs.  If I plowed up there, I would've took the stairs out.  The gutter they have runs right into the walkway and we could see the moss growing in-between the steps.  We didn't see a tripping hazard.  And she never put up any snow markers, or asked us to put up any snow markers.  Bottom line, we fulfilled the contract we had with her in full, and after going out there as a good faith effort to talk with her, we do not see any cause to issue her a refund for services that we already provided her in full.  Like I said, we do everything we can to keep our customers happy and we took a ride out there to take a look.  But no, we had a contract, we fulfilled the contract.

    Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  It was the stepping stones NOT the stairs that were damaged. I have had other plow guys that have never had a problem staying on the driveway. He was notified after the first instance which would normally mean for him to come put the markers up but he didn't. He only came out to view the damage when he was contacted about his insurance so there could be a claim started. By then the lawn had been repaired but the STEPPING STONES were still damaged with the scrap marks still very apparant. If he couldn't see them then he needs glasses badly. And if that is the case that would explain why he took out part of my mulch area on both sides of the driveway.... as the pictures show that I sent in, in the first part of this complaint.   Regards,  ***** *****
