    I reached out to Emergency Sewer Services on the 27th of January and they sent someone in a *** Sewer and Drain truck to give me an estimate of $2,177.50 to replace the shower pan in one of my bathrooms. On February 17th, the same representative from *** Sewer and Drain came to my house to look at the project again and gave me the owner of Emergency Sewer (*********************************************) on the phone. Initially, the owner asked me to Zelle him the total cost of the project but I refused and offered him a little over half of the money, $1,177.50. I sent the money through **** to ************************* at ************. The technician was to return the next day, February 18th, to start the project but never showed up. Initially he was supposed to come to the start work at 9 am. Instead I received a call at 2:30 pm from *************************** stating that the project was closer to $7,000 and the best they would be able to do is $4,500. I said no thank you and then she reduced the cost to $3,500. I again said no thank you and asked them to send me a refund for the money. To date, I have not been able to retrieve the money that I sent them. The latest response I received from them was again from **** stating that I should move forward with the project at $3,500. On top of not sending me the money back to date, the company has been very rude and has blocked my number and also shuts the phone on me regularly. I just received a call from the owner, *****, telling me that they do not offer refunds and they would perform the job at the originally agreed to price. I rejected his offer and asked him to send me my money back and he refused. This is the first instance of them ever mentioning that they do not provide refunds. No work was performed and no action was taken by Emergency Sewer Services. Their attempt to hike up the price and force me to do the work so as not to lose my deposit is effectively extortion.

    On April 29th, 2021, My 92 years old father's steam heating system sprung a leak and flooded the basement. My sister called Emergency Sewers and 2 plumbers came out to the house. The plumbers had a different name on the truck, and they were on time, helpful, and fixed the problem pretty quickly. The owner of the company called me to tell me the plumbing was in bad shape (it is over 100 years old) and will cost a bit to fix. Beside replacing the Hartford Loop portion, he said he was going to replace all the heating pipes, and some of the water supply piping. He said the cost was $25,249.86. To have all the steam pipes (Supply and return) replaced is a difficult job. I agreed. I paid about $8000 on credit card, and the balance split between an $8000 loan and a certified check. 2 weeks later I was able to visit my fathers house to inspect the work. The Hartford Loop was repaired in one area, not replaced. No other piping was touched. I have pictures of the extent of the work. Receipt picture too. The only pipes replaced were the union, a short ******, an elbow, and about 18 inches of black pipe. The plumbers were there from 7:00 PM to 1 Am that day, 6 hours. None of the other piping was touched or replaced. I had another plumber in for a different problem later, and was told that was, at best, $3000 worth considering 2 men, overtime, and emergency response. When I complained to the owner of the company, he promised to refund $8000. This was to pay off the loan my father had to take out. The company owner promised to make monthly payments of about $1000 a month. To date, I've received 5 payments of $300 and one of $500 totaling $2000. The owner of the company no longer responds to emails or phone messages. The owner of the company also called on 10/21/2022 and promised to restart payments. Now Feb 5,2023. Nothing. Would prefer $11,000 more but $6000 promised would end this.
