      I requested an oil delivery from Patmos Fuel Company on November 17, 2022. They arrived that morning and delivered oil but overfilled the tank. I walked downstairs into the basement, and it reeked of oil. Approximately a quart of oil poured onto my basement floor under the oil tank. I contacted the company and was told by **** to put a container under the tank to catch the spill. I requested that he come and clean up the spill. **** arrived and asked for rags to help him clean up the spill. When he was done, he sprayed a deodorizer and said that would help with the smell. I asked him how this happened as I have lived in the house for 34 years, having had many oil deliveries and have never had this problem. He stated that the guy that delivered the oil never heard the whistle, so he continued to fill the tank. My research shows the guy should have never begun to fill the tank if he did not hear the whistle. The smell from the oil spill has given me headaches and I am concerned about babysitting my 18-month-old grandson at my house with this oil smell.There is still a bad smell of oil in the basement. In addition, the seals on the oil tank have been over pressurized and a company has to come in to reseal the tank and check the whistle. I am requesting a fee of $1000 from the company to clean up the spill and pay for the new company to reseal the tank and fix the whistle. I have purchased supplies to clean up the spill. I do not know the cost from the other oil company to reseal tank and check whistle as nothing can be done until amount of oil in tank is lowered. I request your assistance in dealing with this company in order to have them reimburse me the above stated amount.
