On 11/1/22 at approximately 4:30pm I stopped to pick up 2 bottles of wine from Crown Liquor. Two older gentleman were working at the time. One of them typed in both bottles of wine into the cash register and gave me a total of $26.98 and I handed him my credit card. He asked if it was credit or debit, I replied credit. He then inserted my card into his credit card machine and immediately said "we've been having issues with this today, I don't know why" then he ripped off a piece of paper from the receipt machine, took out my card and said "I'm sorry it didn't work, I'll have to do it again". Then he typed in both bottles of wine again with the same total and I said "well would you like me to pay cash?". He said "no, let me try this again". He put my card in the credit card machine again and this time it worked and he ripped off the receipt that I have to sign and gave it to me and didn't get another copy so I could keep a copy. I kept the receipt I signed and he wrote on another piece of receipt paper my total of $26.98 and I signed it for them. The other older larger gentleman was there the whole time saying "we've had trouble with this all day long today". I said "I hope I'm not charged twice for this wine" and he said "oh no you won't be". I then left and on my way home I checked my bank account and noticed that $26.98 had gone through twice on my account. I immediately called to notify Crown Liquors and they told me to "call my bank and tell them not to charge me the second one". I then stopped in on Wednesday, November 2nd at approximately 3:15pm to talk with them and have them reimburse me $26.98. The older larger gentleman said there isn't anything he can do unless I give him my cc information, which I said he is not getting! I asked for my money back and he said "no", he only gets paid once from the cc company. I called my bank and am disputing the charges, but this will take 30-60 days and they really felt that I was scammed out of money.
