I would avoid hiring this man. If only there was a review to warn me. He is very personable, nice, trustworthy. Seems like he's extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about his skills and work. I truly believe he has no warrant to his claims. He took my deposit in July. Didn't hear from him when he was supposed to start. Never texted or called to update me. My hubby called and he eventually started the process. Tore down my old deck. Then left for over a week before starting the new deck build and that was after inquiring about it. Once he starts, we notice issues throughout. He charged me for Trex brand railings but used Lowe's brand instead. When confronted he said he just calls them Trex. Once he started the staircase, it went downhill. ****** poured the concrete. But when he did this he measured incorrectly. The concrete pad was not close enough to have the stringers for the stairs sitting on the pad entirely. The stringers weren't cut straight so the entire staircase was leaning. When confronted, ****** said it was ok for the staircase to not be on the concrete pad all the way and since he used tons of shims to correct the problem, he said that was ok too. When we questioned his work further he said he would tear it down and start over by pouring a new concrete pad to extend the one he made and building a new staircase. We agreed to add a gate to the deck bc we have pets and children. He pretended like we didn't discuss the gate twice before starting. Then said I shouldn't put a gate, he would give me a roll up gate instead. I didn't like that idea so now I have no gate. One of his workers put a screw hole in the top of the railing. He replaced it after we showed him. Then added that extra railing kit onto the balance we owed him at the end. When I questioned the railing he removed it. We found 2 planks of Trex decking that were damaged. He only replaced 1. Somehow he was adding 6% sales tax onto our bill for a capital improvement. Avoid hiring.
