Harlequin Reader Service has sent me bill notices after I repeatedly emailed the company stating that I have not signed up or agreed to any prescription. I told them that they are swindling me into paying their charges and was basically replied with a copy and paste excuse that I agreed to their terms by not responding back with a written agreement stating otherwise??? The bills are computer generated therefore will keep adding up to an unknown amount. I am writing to file a complaint against Harlequin Books regarding an unauthorized account and charges. Last month, I received an invoice for books I neither signed up for nor received. When I contacted Harlequin's customer service, I was told that I had unknowingly enrolled in a free book offer, which automatically triggered a monthly membership. I immediately requested verification records to confirm this enrollment, but my request has yet to be answered.
Furthermore, I was informed that I would be charged for the books unless I returned them at my own expense. I clarified that I had never received any books and stated that if the unauthorized account was not closed, Harlequin would be responsible for any future charges. Harlequin confirmed the account was closed, but I continue to receive past-due invoices for fees I believe are unjustified.
I have contacted customer service again regarding these ongoing charges, but the issue remains unresolved.

I have never, ever been in contact with a company named Harlequin. Today I received an invoice stating that I owe $56.76 for "4 HQN ROM SUS" And that the matter will be turned over to collections, and negatively affect my credit score if I do not pay immediately.
I never signed up for this service and do not even know what it is. I never received any books. This appears to be a complete scam, simply based on them getting access to your name and address.
I will not be paying anything, and if indeed they attempt to collect anything or report this fraudulent debt to a credit bureau, I will be suing them to the fullest extent of the law.

I signed up for free books and have since been charged for shipments that I never received. I emailed the company making sure I was not subscribed, and they assured me I no longer was. Yet, I keep receiving bills in the mail that get higher and higher for no reason. I will not pay a cent, as I have since contacted them and never received a response. This company is a scam site that will keep sending you bills once they get your address when there is nothing to bill you over. My first bill was around 35 dollars and I just received another one for 75 dollars when I have unsubscribed months ago and have not been mailed anything. Do not use this site, don't click on anything on this site, and do not sign up for anything. They will do anything to get money out of you that you do not owe. Harlequin sent offer stating I could receive free books. Received books and returned slip marked cancelled & was told I would not be charged. Yet, they continued to send books, even after my cancellation request, and without merit. Contacted harlequin reader services via email and was told the account was cancelled, closed and all remaining balance cleared. This was a lie. I continue to be harassed by harlequin reader services for an invalid debt. If bbb is unable to resolve this issue, I will seek damages for harassment & file a complaint for violating the fair debt collection practices act. While I did have an ongoing subscription for the books I had requested, payment for those books was made, in full, and have the cancelled checks to prove so. However, even after receiving payment, harlequin failed to continue my active subscription of love inspired larger print books. So they have my money, my books, sent me books I never asked for, and trying to collect an additional $57.60 for something I never received. I have made payments, yet their "Collection efforts" fail to even show these payments. Again, my payment was to go towards the active subscription I had, and had been making on-time payments for. Harlequin reader services are the one's who complicated this matter by sending unsolicited books, that had been cancelled, and yet they continued to send & bill for. Solution: 1. Billing adj. - cancel the billing statement for $57.68 (as prev guaranteed by hrs) 2. Refund - refunded the funds paid, yet have never received the product for 3. I decided to try out the Harlequin Reader Service. After the first couple months, I decided it wasn't for me. I chose to keep the books, pay for them, and cancel the service. I was unable to get logged into the website to pay my balance, so I sent checks in the envelopes provided. One for the regular books, and one for the larger print books. After a couple months, I started receiving overdue notices. I checked my bank account, and saw the checks were never processed, so I once again tried to log into my account, and when that didn't work, I sent more checks to pay for the books. After receiving more notices, and seeing that the money was never taken out of my account. I contacted customer service. They told me they never received the checks. I tried once again to access the website, but it still wouldn't work. I was ready to call and pay over the phone, till I received another overdue notice. At this point, I decided to return the books, and mailed them back. I once again contacted customer service to let them know, and they completely ignored everything I told them, and tried a few times to just get the money out of me. At this point, I was just ready to be done with the service. Yesterday, I received another overdue notice, threatening to send my account to collections, even though they know that I have sent the books back. I want this resolved.
