I recently contracted with Mr. ********************** of Huntington and Smithtown and while I'm not complaining about shoddy work or broken parts......I do feel that it necessary to report the $ amount that I was charged for the jobs and the amount of time the jobs took to complete. Job #1 was to rescreen a patio door and a small window screen (bay window). That invoice came to $337.83 and the total time used to complete both tasks was no more than a half hour. At that job, Mr. ********************** indicated that the rollers to the screen door could use replacement and I informed him that I need a crank arm replaced for a window. He came back a second time and I was charged $708.17 which was to replace the crank arm and change the rollers. If he was there a twenty minutes that was alot. Fnally, I needed the lock on the sliding door to be repaired or replaced and he came back a third time and was there all of 10 minutes and I was charged $699.05. I paid all these because they are part of a court case that I am building against former tenants involving damages to the living space. I have the invoices in case support is needed however, the Mr. ********************** invoice sheet has strictly .5 or 1. listed next to each item which makes it difficult to understand. So in total I paid $1,745.05 to have a sliding door (single) rescreened, rollers added to that door, a window screen (very small bay window) rescreened, a crank arm replaced and a lock replaced. The time for all jobs combined was approximately 1 hour. I explained to the office that it would be possible that they might be subpoenaed and their response was that I was paying for his expertise and experience. Really? Did he invent the locks and screen? I am available if you need to discuss any further or need more clarification or support. Thanking you in advance for your attention to the matter. ******* ******

******* This work was across 3 trips and a collective 4 hours. First to replace screens and determine what parts need replacement and if we can get them. Then we special ordered and returned to install them on the window. On that return visit you asked to hire us again for additional work, which also required special order parts and required a third visit. Had all of it been requested up front you would have saved on two special order shipping fees and a third visit fee. Regardless, each visit, you were presented with a total all-in price before we started any work. You had no obligation to hire us or agree to our pricing and hire us again for the additional work. We never claimed to charge by hours. We completed all agreed upon work for the cost agreed upon. Materials and sales tax alone were over $650. We were prompt, honest and upfront with what was needed. Our staff had the skills to diagnose what was needed and where to source the parts as well as install them. Our customer see the total value in our professionalism, promptness, skills to diagnose, repair, and source materials.

My situation is being pursued in court so there is a likely chance that Mr. ********************** will be subpoenaed to testify as to the work performed. I want to go on record with the Better Business Bureau should that happen and they refuse to oblige then I will bring them to court. They were aware of the possible subpoena.

We hired Mr. ********************** to replace ***** deck boards & while the actual work was professional,we would not hire this company again for the following reasons: the advertised free estimate is offered by the office over the phone, consisting of the estimated labor cost, without **************** when the service professional arrived, he provided a more complete estimate---labor, **************** WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE **** IT TOOK TO DO THIS ESTIMATE. Before we engaged Mr. **********************, we enquired about any fees if we did not accept the on-site estimate & were advised "If no work is started the day of the appointment, for whatever reason, a $70+ tax service charge will be collected". This was confirmed by text, as well as, email. Although the work was started & completed on the day of the appointment, WE WERE STILL CHARGED A $70 SERVICE FEE. The actual labor charged was for 5.25 hours, including the 20-minute on-site estimate & a 45-minute trip to ********** to pick up the materials. ON TOP OF THIS WE WERE CHARGED A FEE OF $74 FOR "MATERIAL ACQUISITION". We were not aware of the $70 & $74 charges until we received a detailed invoice from the office, that had to be requested twice. We also asked to speak to the owner about these charges, but have not been contacted.

They never completed the job they were hired for. The work they did do is falling apart. They abused the use of my credit card by charging more than the contract and holding my account number in there computer system. They never got permits to start the work. Did not complete the work they were contracted to do. They did not file with the town, or have it inspected for a Certificate of Occupancy by the town. They do poor work and should not be in this kind of business.
