On 9/21/24, i hired Complete Concrete to perform the following duties: Rip up and discard into a container the existing sidewalk in front of my property and to pour and create a new sidewalk where the old one existed. ***********************, (who informed me he was the owner of the business) and I agreed upon a price for the project($2500.00). Upon completion of the project the same day that it started (9/21/23), ************** assured me that he would be returning to remove wood planks that he used to hold the poured concrete in place until it was set. ************** never returned to finish the job. After a myriad of excuses given to me by ************** as to why he hadn't returned to my residence, he seemingly blocked me from contacting him. The job itself was done poorly, and some cracks have already developed in the concrete, along with neglecting to install expansion joints, which are vital in reducing stress on the concrete slabs.

These claims are unsubstantiated and fraudulent. After we left we put up caution tape and *** then stated someone waked in the Concrete after we had left and gone home.  Hes claiming that there are cracks which I have asked for photos. If he doesnt rescind this complaint I will have to contact my lawyer for a faulty claim  As far as getting the 2x4 border I mentioned to him that we would leave it there and he agreed that that was ok and that he would deal with it.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The contractor did not install expansion joints when installing the concrete sidewalk, and this is why there are multiple cracks in the sidewalk. The contractor promised me he would come back to the worksite and remove the wooden boards that were temporarily installed to hold the concrete in place until it set. Gave me a myriad of excuses why he didn't return to finish the job(Was vacationing, waiting until he had another job to do near my residence) until he apparently blocked my number and didn't respond to my calls or texts. This has gone on for six(6) months now.

The pictures that you have sent is a center cutter they are designed to be 1/2-1/4 deep or 1/4 to 1/8th the thickness of the slab.  You do this so When Concrete cracks which it all will eventually crack no matter the precautions you take, it cracks at that below the surface and not randomly on top. They are also called expansion joints.  Your argument is invalid and it shows I did the job properly. Also we compacted the ground, used a supply from a ready mix company, a reputable supplier, used a sufficient psi at *****. Also judging by the pictures the work and finish are still beautiful.  Thank you
