We hired this company to remove our old/cracked concrete that surrounded our pool and pour new stamped concrete. We even expanded a section and had him do the walkway to the backyard exit. Planning on having him come back to finish the walkway to the front of the house and pave the driveway as well. We also had the pool dug deeper & a new liner & set of stairs put in through another company prior to Catanzaro work being completed. 2023 was an incredible rainy season so the project took longer than anticipated but we were ok with that. When the backyard was finally done it was time to close our pool so this prevented us from seeing the final result until the next summer (2024). We were concerned with the staining that had been performed and it had several darker patches. We also had issues with the concrete that had been sprayed onto our siding, windows & doors. We tried all winter to get a hold of Catanzaro but he was not taking our calls. At this point we had still planned on using them for the rest of the job. In the spring of 2024 when we opened up the pool again we were able to see more of the damage that had been done. They sprayed concrete & stain on our new liner and never bothered to clean it (a season later it was now stuck on & ruined). The edges along the pool were rough/sharp & the concrete wasn't poured properly leaving exposed parts of the stairs with sharp edges (thankfully our pool guy took care of sanding down the stair edges). Unfortunately it was an aesthetically unpleasing fix. There are also parts of the concrete that were completely missed in the glazing process. The ladder holes at the end of the pool were poured to close together and it required bending our ladder poles to have it fit. Unfortunately, the ladder has sprayed concrete chunks on it as well & is now in need of replacing. We tried continuously to contact them in 2024 but were not successful.

Good Afternoon Kevin, As we spoke earlier I am attaching the picture and videos as well as a snip of another client’s contract and have highlighted the part for concrete. You will also see the client is to initial in almost every section in which this client would’ve had to as well. As stated this project was done two years ago. This video is from August 16, 2023 at 11:25am when the concrete was being poured next to the house. You can see that there is plastic up against the house, door, and windows. This is to prevent the concrete from splashing onto them which this client is stating concrete was all over their house, door, and windows.  This picture above is from August 18, 2023 at 1:34pm. This shows the pool concrete is complete. It also shows a film in the pool water from the concrete release which does happen as there is no way to cover the pool when pouring the concrete but it also does get cleaned out through the filtering system. As you see the concrete around the pool was finished mid August (not close to when the client had to close their pool as they stated). This picture is when the concrete was also sealed.  The above video was taken September 22, 2023 at 8:24 am. Over a month after the pool was finished and they asked our company to come back and do a sidewalk for them which you will see at the end of the video. This shows the completed pool project which the client was using at the time as they have their furniture and items out on the deck. As you can see the pool is cleaned and the water is clear with no residue or concrete all over it as the client states. It also shows the ladders are perfectly in place and not bent. I would assume if the client had an issue with the pool concrete then they would’ve made us aware when we came back a month later to do the sidewalk. This above is a contract from another client that shows the client has to initial every section as well as sign. Unfortunately my computer would not allow me to cross out the other clients information or highlight the area that needs to be addressed. In the third paragraph number 8. It states “**** ****** will not: be responsible for any cracks of any kind, discoloration of the concrete deck, settling of dirt surrounding and under decking. Concrete cracking, flaking, settlement and shifting decking is not warranted and is fully expected and customer agrees to hold ********** *** and its agents for any and all such instances as described in this paragraph without exception.” I am attaching that as we were sub contracted from ********** ***** to do the concrete for this client’s pool and were covered under their contract. Their is no warranty on the concrete and the client was made aware of the situation. As far as the client wanting us to come back in 2024 for their driveway and sidewalk we had to turn down their work when asked as we were fully booked for the season.  Please let me know if there is anything else you may need from me. Also, please let me know if you cannot open any of the attachments. This is being sent from an **** and sometimes their apps are different and it doesn’t get converted correctly.  Thank you, Kayleigh C******** Catanzaro Property Maintenance Inc.

The company told BBB that they are scheduled to be at the customer's home this week to resolve any issues.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  Thank you for re-opening this case for me. After many back-and-forth phone calls, the business owners, wife came and took more for photographs on 9/10 they finally sent a worker over to look at it. I was told they were going to grind and caulk, but their workers showed up with a hammer and a chisel after looking at it and calling the business owner they realize that the hammer and chisel we’re not going to work. He suggested removing the concrete up to a certain feet and redoing it and told me he would talk with the owner. In the meantime, I had three other concrete pool people come over and give me an estimate and tell me what should be done all three said that the original concrete needed to be removed at least a couple feet and new coping put in, the business owner did not wish to do this and his wife called me on the phone and told me that they are not responsible because she said ““ “concrete cracks“ however this has nothing to do with concrete cracking. She told me she has absolutely no responsibility to fix it and I was to sue the pool company  because the pool company hired them . That call from her was on September 25.. I have been three years trying to get them to come and look at it and they finally came this September however, what they want to do to fix the situation I have been told will not work by other concrete professionals

I wanted to keep your files accurate . They never came and fixed the problem despite the efforts of the pool guy who hired him who asked him repeatedly to fix it . We had multiple people come and validate what was wrong . They did not care . The pool guy gave me a partial payment to fix it out of his pocket but it ended up costing me 4000 dollars out of my pocket . Terrible experience that caused a ton of stress. He should be ashamed of himself .
