    I signed a contract with Homeview on 10/27/20 for a new roof. This was to include new shingles & underlayment, drip edge, ridge vent, chimney flashing/counterflashing, 30 yr shingle. I paid 6,000 upfront and balance was due at completion of job. Company did complete job, however did not do it correctly as they did not flash correctly, and other flaws. The town code enforcer "forgot to check" on the completion of the job and Homeview never obtained a permit to do work. Once I contacted enforcer, he met with owner of homeview and listed things that needed to be fixed/corrected. However, the work was never done and I did it myself. (I continued to try and contact owner but he did not return calls and it was winter with snow.)The work is to be guaranteed for 30 years. I paid a total of $12,225.00. They also damaged a snow blower, my downspouts and were supposed to replace the downspouts. None was done. On January 12, 2025 my kitchen ceiling leaked in 4 different places. I tried to contact the owner, to which the number provided was now disconnected. I sent an email stating my issue as well and received a call from a woman who claimed the email was hers, however she has no dealings/relations to the owner, Ray A****** of Homeview business. I am at a loss and do not know what to do. I am a senior citizen living alone on a fixed income from disability. I barely make my bills and often have to rely on family to help. Please advise how I can get the roof fixed by the business. Thank you so much for your time and consideration regarding this issue.

    Hired Ray in the beginning of July to build a deck. He charged me $6750 for it and asked 50% down payment. On July 11 I gave him a check for $3375 and he never came to do the job. It’s now September 10. Rays has really poor communication with clients and doesn’t answer customer for days. I texted him and asked my deposit back and he said he would give my deposit back once he resells the materials that he purchased or whenever someone hires him to do a similar job, whichever happens first. I told him that this isn’t an acceptable solution as none of this things are under his control and they might not ever happen. He said there would be no issues refunding my deposit but would take a week or 2 and I haven’t heard from him.

    I hired Mr. Ray Austin owner of Homeview in good faith to replace the roof on my house and he provided an estimate for me on September 29, 2020. The estimate included photos of deficiency's in the roof that needed to be addressed, including the shingles. I've since had an inspector from my home owners policy come and evaluate the roof and he took photos of buckling that need repair in order for me to renew my policy. I've informed Mr. Austin via email and voicemail message. This is Mr, Austin's response via email:

    "I see the photos. You can see by the photos there's absolutely nothing wrong with the shingle, the buckling as you call it is a result of the decking underneath of the shingle. That's a result of poor Construction. Nails probably came out of the decking or loosened up and it's starting to curl on the end of that sheet of decking. You didn't pay me to redeck your house, you paid me to put shingle on it, given that when we were done that buckling wasn't there so you're decking was still in good condition."

    Mr. Austin warrantees his work and if moisture (water) got into the decking beneath the shingle, as he's indicated, than that is the issue of his company's poor craftsmanship.

    In June 2022 I gave Ray Austin a check for $3000 as a down payment on his remodeling 2 bathrooms. The check was cashed 6/14/22. In September 2022 I received an e-mail stating that work would start soon. No work was ever done. I have asked for my money back but have not received any response.

    I entered into a contract in October of 2022. Asking for a new roof on house and garage with a porch with gable roof attached to house. The contractor did not begin work until the week of Thanksgiving in November. He stated he would have porch finished before 1st of the year. The only thing he had done before 1st of year was the porch framed out and joists on house. I never heard from him for 4 months. I started contacting him in February and March about getting started again. He finally started work again in April. I currently have the garage roof complete and half of my house is shingles. After he was done doing the garage and half of house he asked me for the second payment. I advised him I would call my investor and should have money in 2-3 days. He didn't show up to work for 6 days. I gave him money on the 4th day. $6300. He finally admitted to me that he had no money to purchase product to start the roof to the porch because I was texting him every day asking him why he wasn't working here. So 6 days were wasted.. I gave him $10,000 in October (1st installment). He had money but still didn't show up. Last week he worked 3 days. 3 hours a day. I have a calendar on my fridge that has everyday he worked and how long they worked for the past 2 months and up till today. Today I had to show one of his crew members all the water that has flowed into my basement closet because he took down the eve troughs. So when it rains water goes into my closet and is ruining my memorabilia I have stored in there. I absolutely refuse to clean it up. He made the mess in there and he is going to clean it. He should be here working diligently to finish this roof so as to protect my closet from anymore damage. A couple of his crew came today. I showed him the damage and said he would contact "the boss". No word from "the boss" to tell me what he plans to do to make this right. The workers stayed for 2 hours but nothing was accomplished. They worked from 1 until 245. Help me please!!!
