My ** went out and and I called Expert Services in ********, **. The lady said he would come on Tuesday. He came on Monday which was Labor Day 2023. He installed dual capacitors and charged me $444. $100 of that was because it was a holiday and it was an Emergency Charge. The next day he came back and put in Stop Leak and Freon. That charge was $1200! I paid the $444 and I paid the $1200. Then I realized he had overcharged me because Im older and because I am a widow. I stopped the check. He called and in essence he said to my complaint that I had agreed to it. I had magnets of two companies (one was advertising for Expert Services) on my fridge and he added a magnet for his company and removed the competitors magnet. The ** was not fixed. The company my son (now deceased in August) had used was back from vacation and I called him to get a new unit installed as I didnt ************ Services to give me a fair deal!

Last July we returned from a trip on a Sunday to find that our air conditioner had stopped working while we were gone, and it was 90 degrees in our house. My husband is almost 85 years old and Im not far behind. Tried to contact ******, the company that installed it 3 years ago because it was still under warranty from when the house was built but they were unable to send anyone. We then searched and found another company, Service Experts, who were able to come and do to it as warranty work for $99. ***, their technician, came and knew immediately what the problem was. It was the capacitor, a $15-20 part that took less than five minutes to fix. The air conditioner is a Carrier and he said he didnt have a Carrier capacitor but he could go to Lowes and get one, but if he did, it would be another $99 service fee plus $367 for a total of $565.00, or he could install the one he had on his truck that wasnt Carrier approved and it would only be $466. When we disagreed with his charges, and were about to chase him out of our house, he called his manager, and said he could drop the price to $311, which we paid. My husband is very knowledgeable and handy, and could have bought the part and fixed it himself, but since we were had just returned from a trip to ********, and very tired, we ch to call a company to help us. This man basically held us hostage over the charge since he knew we needed it fixed right away. The next day we called to speak to a manager and related our saga. We called back several times and each time we were told of different amounts including a full refund, would be refunded but nothing was ever sent to us. The last person I spoke with about 3 weeks ago who said he was a manager, said they were sending a full refund. Now, this last week we actually received a refund check for $70, which I have not cashed. I believe they because the charge should have been no more than the $99 service call, and possibly the $5-10 part.
