    Unfortunately, I've paid thousands of dollars to this company with installing a new heating system and getting onto their plumbing membership program. Well, the actual workers are sometimes good at their job, it is the call center and the schedulers that give this company a terrible reputation. *********, who is the call center manager is likely the issue. There have been multiple occasions when I have made an appointment and take a day off of work and wait around just to find out that there is no one coming. The way I find out that no one is coming? I make a call to ask where the worker is and it is then then I find out that no one is coming. They do not apologize, do not take responsibility and are quick to get you off the phone. I was told today by a woman *******, if you cannot take the alternate appointment, you are welcome to work with another company. " I have memberships in two different areas of this company so if they are so easy to let go of long-standing customers, how are they gonna treat you before you realize what you're dealing with? I could not warn you enough to stay far far away from this company. Even if you talk to a manager, nothing changes. It is extremely disappointing and infuriating to lose so much money to a company that simply does not care about their customers.

    Do yourself a favor and use another company! Made an emergency service call to Folks on Tuesday night at 6pm (29 degrees F outside) reporting that I have no heat and needed a technician to come out and look at my furnace. I let them know that I had signed and paid for a maintenance agreement with them which was supposed to make me a priority customer and put me at the top of the list for an emergency service call. They let me know that they might be able to make it out that night but were busy with other calls and it most likely wouldn't be until the next morning. Next morning no call from them I called them at 10am and they let me know I am on the list for that day but could not give me a time frame. I wait 2 hours and call back at 12 demanding a time for a technician to come. they say between 2 and 4, the technician shows up at 4 runs one test and says you need a new zoning board, I asked how could that be your company just replaced the zoning board a little over 3 years ago. The tech tells me he is not sure they usually last longer but unfortunately the warranty is only 3 years on parts and your just passed that. I don't argue because its cold out and I need heat so I agree to pay the $600 for the repaid. (the same zoning board is $150 online). 15 mins later after the board is replaced the heat is still not working. He then informs me that it actually wasn't the zoning board rather the internal control panel inside the furnace and since that is a ***** part they will have to order it. He tells me that they will have it overnighted and be back in the morning to fix it. Don't hear from them again in the morning so I call and the girl tells me they didn't order the part and cant unless I put down 50% deposit. I ask to speak to a manager because that is not what the tech told me and I want to understand why the part wasn't ordered. I was told I would be called back in 30 mins. 5 hours later still no call back after leaving multiple messages with their call center.

    They came to install our furnace and AC Unit in August.They never completed the install because they said they had to order a part to be custom made due to sizing in our home. They said it would be two weeks for the part to come in and someone would reach out to schedule custom part installation. It's now November and the part still hasn't been installed and we keep getting the run around when we reach out. We have a brand new furnace but haven't been able to change the air filter yet due to the parts not being installed.

    Called to service air handler that started to run on high speed after a lightning strike. Tech arrived quickly. Diagnosed the complaint, gave estimate and time frame for repair. Parts would take 3-5 business days. They would call to make installation appointment.
    12 business days later, no call. I called, only to be told the parts were on order and they would call when the parts came in. They had no idea when the parts would arrive.
    After 20 business days still no call. Called again, only to be given the same script. Asked to speak to the service manager. Not available till the next day. Service manager called giving more excuses, but would call me the same or next day after he checked into the situation. Never called. I had had it. Called the service manager and told him they were fired from the job.
    Now comes the best part. I hired a local company. They came the same day, diagnosed the problem, gave a quote and said the job would be done in 3 days. Sure enough the job was started and completed in …..3 business days with a price disparity that’ll knock your socks off.
    Folkes quote was $3200.00. My local company did the repair for under $800.00. That’s one quarter of Folkes quote and work completed in 3 business days.
    No, I would not recommend Folkes for any type of repair or installation.

    I had service this week for my air conditioning units. It was a the worst service i have ever had. The techs did not clean my condensers. They didn't replace my old filters. When I asked about the filters I was told they were clean. I called to speak to a manager and still haven't received a call back. Poor service and Poor Customer Service. I will never use Folkes Home Services again.

    Broken water heater on a Friday afternoon, and about 6 hours later an installed new water heater. I also appreciated the clean beige carpet afterward! I have used Folkes before and have never been disappointed. Quite pleased.

    I've had a contract with Folkes for years 2022 and 2023. Never had a problem until this year.I had my ** unit tuned up in May. For years we have had a minor refrigerant leak but nothing major. They recommended a pressure check but I declined. Told them to add refrigerant and that was it.On Aug 8, 2023 the ** wasn't cooling properly so I called for an appointment. They recommended a leak search, I declined, they recharged the system and added more refrigerant. On Aug 17 our main circuit breaker had tripped and when we reset it the ** didn't come back on.Called for service again. The compressor needed a new capacitor and it was replaced. The next day the ** stopped working again. I called for service. They told me refrigerant had all leaked out again.I agreed to a leak search and they did the dye test and found a leak in the evaporator coil and gave me an estimate of $3200 for repair with no credit for previous work done because I was told by customer ********************** I agreed to all work and Folkes does not give credit...I had given them $1600 already. I called another company, told them the problem and they gave me an estimate of $1500. When they came to check the system they did a nitrogen pressure test to verify the leak. They put 6x the amount of pressure into the compressor than the system actually uses and heard no signs of a leak. They also told me there was enough refrigerant to last the rest of the summer. Folkes had turned the system off because they said refrigerant was empty and new coil has to be put in. The ** is now working fine, the second company charged me $0 and I'm out $1600 by Folkes who never fixed anything. And every time they came back they charged me $323 for the service visit. Also, I didn't sign one of the invoices.The technician signed my name and used the credit card on file. The people at Folkes are a bunch of scam artists and I believe they intentionally caused my system to stop working. Otherwise, why would it just miraculously start working?

    I would like to revise this review to let everyone know this company charges top dollar and is miserably cheap. They charge $230 for a maintenance contract plus $100 for a new filter. We use 2 filters and want you to pay and additional $100 or they wont put one in. Extortion! They continually state your filter is dirty but you have to pay another $100 or it wont be installed. They said to go to ********** and buy 4 filters for $100. I paid nearly $30 K for the central air. I had much lower quotes from others but thought erroneously Folkes would treat me better. Their apprentice technician and supervisor had a huge chip on their shoulder. In retrospect I should not have chose Folkes. In the past Ive had some ok technicians but they didnt plan the job properly for duct work and made needless holes in my wall and closet ceiling as they are learning. Im fed up with this company I had put too much faith in. Their maintenance contract is not in writing, they seem to make things up as they go along. Check the BBB like I should have.

    I was anxious because my plumber left the area I found an advertisement for FOLKES and decided to use it. I must tell you I am so overwhelmed by *** and ************ who did a phenomenal job. I cant even believe if they were my son Im a senior citizen they couldnt done a better job so professional left no mess and did everything from 9 oclock until 6 oclock. God bless them and I will recommend you guys forever and ever they are the best dont lose them. Whatever you do give them whatever they want. They are so professional.
