In June and July of this year I had cataract surgery performed by Precision Eye and Laser of ********, **. The surgery went well. I was billed up front for my deductible and copay. I was told that I may have a reimbursement at the end for over payment. At my last appointment I was told that I , in fact , owed the practice, rather than the other way around. The practice sent me a bill dated 7/23 and I waited for my insurance companys Explanation of Benefits to compare the bills. The EoB said I owed $6+ less, but I paid the billed amount anyway. I did not want complications. I paid the bill in 8/15. A few days later I received a letter from a collection agency asking for an additional $53 for fees. Together with my insurance representative, we phoned the collection agency who recognised that I had made a payment, but said there was a balance due of $53 because the claim was over a year old. See the agency letter which was backed to 2021. I never saw this doctor before May 2022. They referred me to the doctors office. I tried to phone the doctors office. They told me the file was locked, that they would not discuss this with me and hung up. I called 3 times and was hung up on 3 times. Please resolve, if you can.
