    A friend referred a contractor who was their friend from the neighborhood to do cement work for me. He came and looked at the areas to be cemented and quoted me $3,150.00 being he was a friend of a friend I gave him a couple of days later on 3/25/2025 a $600.00 deposit and he gave me a outline of the work to be done. He knew I wanted the work done as soon as possible, he did not give me a start date. In the interim the contractor I have used for years called me back after many messages on 4/12/2025 he was in another country visiting family. I asked him for an estimate on bathroom and he came over right away and started two days later in the process we came upon a leak in the wall caused by the main city water line, the city plumber came and fixed it on 4/24/2025, the cement was broke from the driveway to the street and the contractor I hired for the bathroom cemented the driveway and I had him do the yard as well to be done all at once. I called Lenny the contractor to get my deposit back and he refused, I told him I had all these other problems and on a fix income as I am 92 years old.

    Hello, I did read your complaint on the BBB site. You did sign a contract with us at the end of March. Weeks later you decided to cancel the contract with us. We do have costs which we pay to our office and have legal expenses for our contracts. We are willing to give you a refund of $400. If you decide to do business with us in the future we will credit the $200 payment to your new contract.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

    We did not receive a contract as there were no terms and conditions. We received a typed piece of paper itemizing the work to be done, less than 1 page, which did not require any legal representation nor do I believe paying staff if any is a contract term. However, in an effort not to pursue this in the courts and to make a good faith attempt to resolve this we will accept $500 and the remaining $100 can be for your time spent chatting in our kitchen.
