    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. On 9/1/2023 I picked up my eight week old puppy from the breeder.  I had paid $1,300 prior to me picking him up.That night, the puppy required emergency vet hospitalization due to ingesting what appeared to be a silicone brush (see attached photo). The object was ingested at the breeder's house due to her negligence.  She does not refute this fact.  The vet bill was $2,647.56.  The breeder refunded me $1,100.  I am still out of pocket $1,547.56 due to the negligence of the breeder by having foreign objects in the arear where the puppy was being kept.

    Regards,

***** ********   puppy at the vet, and the vet bill.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/10/2023

BBB spoke to the business owner and the following was relayed:The contract states that they are not responsible for ingested items.  However, in an effort to go above and beyond we have already refunded this customer $1,100.00.   We also allowed this customer to keep the puppy.  So in essence we gave this customer a puppy and $1,100.00, even though our contract, that this customer signed, states we are not responsible for anything if a puppy ingests something.  It is not being disputed by this customer that the dog ingested something.  We are not going to pay anything towards the vet bill because we are not responsible.  And we have already refunded this customer $1,100 and let him keep the puppy as a good faith effort to maintain good relations.  Therefore, we believe we have gone above and beyond already.  Thank you.  I've attached a copy of the signed contract where everything I referenced is clearly explained as well. see attached contract
