    We paid for the year ahead of the camping season, unfortunately due to an injury at work, and not being able to return any time soon per drs we couldn't afford to camp, I called months before the camp ground opened for the season, and asked about a refund, I recieved 1 call back which I explained the situation and was told i would get a call back i have not heard anything back from them, called numerous days for the last few months and am not getting phone calls returned. There is nothing in contact that states you can't cancel before the season starts and not get a refund.

     Ed called me just before camp open for the 2024 season. He expressed that they didn't know if they could camp due to some issues. I did tell him that I could not give any refund unless the site got taken by someone else. I did have people looking but nothing ever happened with the site they picked. This is on page 6 under Termination which states " Refunds for departure prior to the beginning of the season will be based on the ability to have someone take the seasonal site. There is no refund unless the site gets taken."  So he was made aware. Looking back in my phone calls he did call yesterday June 4, 2024 but I have not return calls from yesterday.  So numerous calls I don't know about. They also did a May Fundraiser, so I thought they were going to camp, which is a requirement that they agreed to.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    I was told on a phone call that we could work it out. I paid for the season in full and due to a situation out of my control I can't use it, I called before the season even started and explained the situation, I was ignored moving forward which is why I'm going this route and now a greedy organization is stealing my money for services I paid for and did not get to use.

    BBB spoke to the business and the following was relayed:

    I've been in business for years and have never received a complaint.  As stated in the signed contract,  "Refunds for departure prior to the beginning of the season will be based on the ability to have someone take the seasonal site. There is no refund unless the site gets taken."  When he notified me that he wished to cancel and wanted a refund, I did try everything I could to get the site rented out for him.  We put stone at the site and tried to get it rented.  However, with the late notice, we were unable to get the site rented.  Therefore, according to the signed contract, we are cannot issue a refund.

    I understand they have a business to run, You should be able to be a decent member of human race and understand that extreme situations happen. I called as soon as I was pulled out of work with no estimated return date, with that being said 2 months prior to the start of the season isn't a last minute time period. I'm sorry I was injured on the job. I cant sit for longer than 30 minutes to drive that far(1 hour & 34 minutes from my house) and I can't move well enough to do anything involved with my camper at this point and will probably be disabled for the rest of my life. I lost 2 jobs due to the back injury, I'm doing everything in my power to provide for my family, Its not like I woke up one morning and decided I didn't want to camp anymore. which I told her when I called the first time but when all you care about is money it shows the type of people you really are dealing with.
