    On 7/27/2024 a Technician from Skyline Maintenance came to my home to inspect my chimney. We agreed to replace the chimney with a price quote of $4800.00. A work order was drafted to replace the chimney. I was asked to put down a deposit of $1000.00. I was advise that I could give a check and they would hold the check until the work was completed. Once the job was completed I could pay in full and they would return the check. On August 2 the check was cash. I called the company and advised them I was told the check would be place on hold. I told them also that I was not given a date the job would start. The person I spoke with stated someone would get back to me. The technician came back to my home the same day on August 2 and told me the job would be an additional $3000.00. I told him I didn't have the additional money. He stated he would see what he can do. I called back to the office August 8 and spoke to the lady at the office and tried to explain to her that I have no information as to how the job is going to be handle. If they are going to do the job for the price quote. The lady got very nasty and started screaming at me. The technician finally called me back and asked me how much more i could pay. I told him since she already cashed the check for the thousand dollars that all I could give. Again I was told he will get back to me. At this point and the way they handled this situation and treated me I would like a refund of my money.

    The original contractor put the wrong size pipe in her chimney a few years ago. We went and took a look and noticed that was the problem. We gave her the best estimate we could do. The prices of everything has inflated and when it comes to material for fixing things in your home, are most certainly no exception! We wish we could have made the prices cheaper for everyone that asks for our company to do work at their homes. Unfortunately we can't do these jobs for free. People must get paid and material must be bought. The check was an accident. I hired a new girl in my office and she made an honest mistake and sent the check in with other checks to be deposited. I had spoken with *************** about this and apologized to her profusely. At that point she was understanding when I explained what happened. As far as yelling at her, that is not what happened. I had 2 phones in my hands. 1 was with her on the phone the other phone had the field manager that was stuck on a job who couldn't hear me properly because there was sirens blaring in the background of where he was. I had to raise my voice quite a bit to get him to hear me.

    I can say this has become a conflict of interest. I am more than willing to mail her a refund of the money owed. Once she receives that I would hope she would help me resolve this.

    I contacted this company (Skyline Maintenance) through online reference website *************. This company guaranteed their work and service but when I called to report an issue with the installation theyre avoiding me. I called and left several messages and I even took days off to be available for them to correct their mistakes but they did not show up on multiple occasions. Now They are unresponsive not even responding to my calls nor messages. This business only says what is needed to get your money but doesnt back it up as stated in contract. Skyline Maintenance never responded nor acknowledged my request. This company showed poor customer service and lack of professionalism. Skyline Maintenance unethical actions demonstrated all of the following: False Advertisement, Misrepresentation and Fraud, Entrapment, and Abuse of Trust. All of which is the basis of this complaint.
