One star because I am unable to leave zero stars. We signed a contract and hired SJR Construction on 05/29/2024 to remove old/install new vinyl siding, aluminum wrap all windows and replace some windows on our home. Steven began the work on 06/06/2024. On 06/30/2024 Steven completed most of the work except for installing the Bay Window, aluminum wrapping of 4 remaining windows, and installing the vinyl siding on the Bay Window wall. Steven advised me on 06/30/2024 that he would be back to finish up the job once the Bay window is ready from the manufacturer. It had to be special ordered because of the dimensions. That would be another 2 to 3 weeks or so. Trusting that he was an honest person, we paid him the balance in full. That was a huge mistake. After weeks and weeks of not hearing from Steven, he finally set a date for Saturday 09/21/2024. He said he would be over to install the Bay Window and complete the job. Steven failed to show up on 09/21/2024. No Show, No Response, No Apology, No Explanation, No Nothing. On 09/24/2024, Steven texted me to say that he is writing us a check for $3,300.00, which is the amount of overpayment for all the agreed upon work, as per the signed contract. As of 12/19/2024, still no money or any refund from Steven. In November of 2024 we filed a suit against Steven and won the Civil Case against him and his business. He never showed up for the hearing. The Judge/Court adjudged him to pay $4,336.00 for Breach of Contract and associated court fees. The NYS Attorney General has been notified of all the details, and they are pursuing our refund through other legal channels. We strongly caution and urge others that you DO NOT do business with SJR Construction or Steven. He is unprofessional, arrogant, dishonest, deceptive and lacks customer service skills.

SJR had recently installed new windows, siding and roof. They were prompt and extremely clean! I was able to get a full manufacturer and install warranty for all the work which was a big deal for us. I’d highly recommend steve for any of your remodeling needs
