I needed new hearing aids so after some research Ear Works seemed to be a reputable supplier. We went to the ************** and met with the audiologist there, a ****** ******. She tested my hearing, and told me I had significant hearing loss, and recommended ****** brand hearing aids. I have not been happy with the performance of these hearing aids. The 45 day trial period is not enough time to evaluate how well these devices worked. The only improvement I have found is that I hear my TV better at a lower volume. I still have **************** people talk to me in a quite environment and in a noisy environment cannot hear much of anything. We have gone back to Ear Works in ******* several times to complain and have always been told the same thing by ******; that my wife's hearing loss is significant and nothing really can be done to improve the situation. She has tried some adjustments to the hearing aids which have not helped at all. These hearing aids cost $6800 and are not performing as they should. If my hearing loss is so bad why did they sell me any hearing aids or possibly suggest another brand that is better for people with significant hearing problems? Basically it seems we are stuck with very expensive hearing aids that do not work as they ********* this point I believe my only recourse is to try and get this problem resolved with your help. Either an offer to try a different brand of hearing aid or a full refund I believe are the only acceptable options.

      Business Response

Tell us why here...I apologize for not responding sooner.  I did not see any previous emails regarding this claim.  After reviewing the patients chart, I see they were only in the office twice after the hearing aids were dispensed.  Their last visit was September 5, 2024 and we have not heard from them since.   We were unaware that they were unhappy.  The patient was fit with an appropriate set of hearing aids given the severity of her hearing loss.   My practice manager has reached out to the patient and spoke directly to the spouse.
The patient is now scheduled for an additional follow up appointment with the audiology manager to discuss the issues and either make adjustments to the current hearing devices, or discuss a different device options. We made the patient aware that we are available for appointments if any issues come up going forward. The patient understood.
