The vehicle in question required the customers approval, and possible expense, to tear their vehicle down to cause of failure. The customer didnt want to incur any expense which delayed the tear down. Then we had to call the repair into their warranty company which takes time. Then we had to wait for a warranty inspector to come out and look at the vehicle. The inspection was around the 4th of July which caused further delay. Then we had to wait for the warranty company to authorize repairs. Then we had to order parts which are here. Then a relative of hers called and instructed us to put the car back together so that they can have it repaired else where. None of these events were in our control. No clue what the customer wants us to do at this point as the request on here is to fix the car?

I purchased a used car from Geneva Foreign and Sports 09/2023 for $11, 500 (list price $8,999 plus a warranty).
A few days after purchase, the passenger sun visor fell down and the steering wheel began shaking if we went over 60 mph. We took it back and they resolved the issues at no charge to us.
A week later, the tire pressure light came on. The front passenger tire was low. I am putting air in the tire every day. I didn’t budget having to replace four tires after purchase.
In mid October, check engine light came on and the engine began shuddering during operation. We brought the car back for yet another look. they resolved the issue at no charge to us.
First week of November, the heater stopped working. We were given a $500 quote to replace the blower motor. We declined and I replaced the blower motor myself for $100, using new parts. It turns out the blower motor wasn’t the issue. The A/C compressor needs replacing.
In the past day, the check engine light has come back on. Checking the code at **** shows a bad O2 sensor,.
We have only made two payments on this car.
The car is now nearly undriveable in wet or cold conditions. We even purchased a warranty to help offset the *possibility* of something going wrong. We did not anticipate multiple issues not covered by any warranty, especially when you’re buying from a dealer who specializes in luxury cars.
One of the more frustrating aspects of doing business with GFS has been the lack of transparency. Initially I inspected the car before we made the decision to buy and found multiple concerns. I was assured that everything would be taken care of and we would be given a safe, reliable used car. We were told that they do repairs after they find a buyer for a car before turning the car over to the new owner. I was never told what was fixed prior to the sale even though I requested that information multiple times. Instead I feel like as little as possible was done to the car, passing on known problems to us.

We understand her frustration and we feel it as well. This is a older vehicle with over 140k miles but was very thoroughly looked over and serviced before it was sold to her. The items that were mentioned are unforeseeable issues and no one couple expect them. That is why we have gone above and beyond in trying to assist in repairs that are not covered by any type of warranty. We do this in an effort to make sure the customer is satisfied with the vehicle they purchased. Unfortunately, we cannot offer to repair every issue at no charge forever. With that being said, we are glad to discount any needed repairs for a certain amount of time in an effort to help maintain the customers vehicle to her expectations.

As for the blower motor, our diagnosis of the issue was correct. The customer states an AC compressor was the reason that the blower would not work but the two are completely unrelated.

Purchased a vehicle 9/27/22, less than 20 miles after leaving, the engine light came on and prior to leaving the shop, we had been told they were ordering a headlight bracket. We returned in November 2022 to have the bracket replaced. The 1st week of January, the front end of the vehicle was loose again, less than 2 mths after having bracket replaced. We have contacted and sent pictures repeatedly to Geneva to show them assembly was broken and they should have seen that when they replaced the bracket. The headlight assembly was held together with rubber cement. I told them when they replaced that bracket they should have seen how that was cemented together. We had already been out there to have a Turbo accessory light changed that came on 20 miles away after leaving after the purchase. We go back a couple of weeks later to have the Turbo replaced. At that time, Ken mentioned the oil being low and we had just had an oil change, was told to keep an eye on it and blamed it on bad turbo. Then once again in January, the headlight was loose and that is when we noticed how it was glued together. We have been sending emails and calling. They wanted us to come out there which is 2 1/2 hours and we refused and said we would take it someplace because of all the problems, already being out there 4 times in 4 months, and too busy. Took it to a different garage, was told $800+ labor. Called Geneva back, said we would order the part and we would send them the bill but we could not find the part online because it is an HID light assembly. We then spoke to Ken and asked them to order the part and ship to us the 1st week in January who spoke to his boss, Zack, who said they would order the part. It is now 3 weeks later, no ph. call stating it's been ordered and shipped. I can't drive at night, early mornings and even if its raining or snowing because of one headlight due to being an uber driver and it's against the law. I have copies of all the emails and the pictures of the issue.

We sent a headlight? Customer wasn't willing to come here for installation. Vehicle is way outside of warranty and this was goodwill. Vehicle is being used for commercial use also which voided any warranty they would have had.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

We have several documents pertaining to the many issues we've had with this vehicle from day 1. We have an email from saleswomanshowing proof that this vehicle was used for Uber, proof that we contacted them regarding engine light. The engine is burning oil which we have proof that Geneva was notified of that. They blamed it on a bad turbo. So.ething needs to happen regarding this garbage that was sold to us. I could only add 4 documents and I have over 10. Also bill of sale and contract have 2 different sales price of the vehicle which was nor caught until going through paperwork which I would like to submit
      Regards,

My son and I found a car at Geneva Foreign & Sport with salesman Michael H******. Prior to sale he stated GFS needed to fix main crank bearings, work commenced. Car arrived, about 40 days and 1400 miles into their GFS offered 60 day 3000 mile warranty, the engine has blown and rendered useless. Took it to ************ ****** here local. They said we need a new engine, there is no repair that can be made ******; “What that essentially boils down to is lack of lubrication between the rod and the crank journal at the bearing. I just went out and checked the oil level, it's right on the money perfect.” Gave me a quote for a new engine the 21k and shared a Carfax with me that said GFS replaced the engine on 8-8-22. This was not disclosed to us, had it been we would not have purchased! Contacted GFS for weeks for assistance and a copy of their detailed warranty with no support. Told them what ****** said about the Carfax and they said I don’t know why it says that because we did not. Upon contacting still got ignored or excuses of not their problem. Finally GFS said they need the car back, ship it and they will look at it. I asked can’t they contact ****** for a diagnosis, and what are they willing to do and what assurance do I have the car will not be held for ransom while another bad repair is made? No reply. Contacted the NY AG as well they referred me to contact someone else. Need support please.

Hi, while we would love to help every one of our clients we are not able to increase or decrease warranty periods. In this situation the vehicle was an out of state sale and there was no implied or expressed warranty. Secondly, the customer declined to purchase an extended warranty to cover unfortunate instances like this one.Kind regards,Dan F*********

Hi. We purchased this car via phone and email with Mr. H****** and GFS. After making said repairs the car arrived on 8-20-2022. Upon enjoying the car for a limited time, on 10-6-2022 the engine had a catastrophic failure from said repairs. From the local dealership I was provided a Carfax which stated the engine was replaced. Mr. H****** says this did not occur, but no remarks about the repair that failed. Again, I would ask that repairs to the car be made and if that requires shipping those costs be included by GFS. I have been a civil customer trying to work within the system, hoping for support.

BBB spoke to Dan at the business and the following was relayed:

After review, we did have the engine installed. After purchase, the customer had emailed us that he was racing the car at high speeds. We did offer to help with the repair and the shipping to have it brought back but the customer only wanted it replaced with a new engine.
