    On December 10, 2021 I hired Maccarone Plumbing **** to repair our boiler. It was determined at that time that the Taco Control needed to be replaced. We replaced the control and upon the service man recommendation we replaced the expansion tank - which he claimed was bad. Almost one year later - on November 16th, 2021 we were woken by the smell of smoke. My husband discovered that the boiler was on fire. He was able to put the fire out and shut the boiler down to do no further damage.We had Big Apple Heating and Plumbing come out to look at our boiler situation and it was determined that the Taco Relay that was installed was installed without safety in case of failure. This caused the electrical fire inside and outside the boiler at relay. When I called Maccarone Plumbing - I was brushed off and said that this is not correct because how one year later did this happen - "Didn't you use your heat last year after install"? They also told me to go through my insurance company and that this is not their problem.
