    Joe offered to purchase two beautiful antique furniture pieces (a pier mirror and dresser - see attached photos) from my 92 yr old mother’s home for $325. On Oct 28, 2024, he picked up the pieces from my mother’s home. I contacted him numerous times via phone and text asking him for payment. Initially he said “he thought he sent it” via *****, then he just stopped responding altogether. I would like for him to pay for the items he took.

    J and R was hired as an estate sale company. The contract was signed September 9, 2023. Sale was held September 29 and 30, October 1 and 2. Owner, Joe Hart has yet to provide executor of the estate, copies of receipts, and or a check for the amount sold/owed to the estate (as of 10/26/23). Dates/times have been scheduled to meet and Joe Hart has no called/no showed. He has not responded to the most recent calls or texts from the executor. On behalf of the estate, a police report has been filed with the NYS Police. Joe Hart took (5 tables) prior to the estate sale to use for personal business, the table have not been returned. Joe also has possession of the following items from the estate sale at his private residence: riding mower, garden cart, snowblower, propane fire pit and concrete mixer. These items are listed for sale on ******** ************ He explains the fire pit is brand new, he is moving and no longer needs. Unknown what else has sold vs what was stolen, no proof of sale has been provided by Joe Hart.
    The executor of the estate hopes Joe Hart will make right and provide proof of receipt for all items, return or pay estate for stolen items and provide payment for all items sold during the estate sale.

    Held an estate sale for us in April 2023. Said he mailed receipts and check. Never received. Has been avoiding contact—will not answer calls or texts. Owes us over 5k. Do not do business with this cheat

    BBB spoke to Joe at business and the following was relayed: The customer was provided the paperwork and payment at the time of sale. The customer was informed and is unhappy that she is not entitled to get paid for left over contents which we had to dispose of.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. 
    The response from the business is a complete and utter lie.  I received no paperwork or money from the business.  He said he mailed both to me and I never received any mail from him.  He then dodged my calls and texts saying he would remail the check but never did. Then he just started ignoring me completely.  Since I never received the paperwork I don’t even know what we are entitled to from the sale of items.  But I do know that he received $5500 for the car he sold on our behalf for which he was entitled to 10%.  He owes us $4950 for the car alone.

    In January they did a estate sale for me. He said he mailed books, receipt, and check which I never received. Then said he was tracking it, which he never gave me a tracking number, which I asked for numerous times. So now I am still trying to get a check and receipt. I have been calling him numerous times a day and am receiving no response.

    BBB spoke to Joe at business and the following was relayed: I met with the customer and gave him a check. He said the name was wrong. I have had another check prepared and waiting for him. I offered to mail but he wants to meet instead and said he would meet me at the next auction. The receipts were already taken care of.
