    My husband and I traveled to Hamburg NY for his high school
    Reunion on August 11,12 and made reservations through ******* to stay at the Super 8. When we arrived, we found that it had been mostly filled with the unhoused population. While I have no problem sharing the facility with people in need, it quickly became clear that no maintenance nor care had been done to the hotel in quite some time. It was filthy. The carpets were old and stained, the bathroom plumbing was leaking ( we put a trash can under to catch the water), the couch had worn upholstery and what looked like blood stains, the wall behind the door in the bathroom was splashed with something brown that hadn’t been cleaned and the comforter on the bed had multiple burn holes. There was some cleaning done because the whole place reeked of cigarette smoke and ******. It was difficult coming in from outside because renters were clustered around the door smoking. A rock was placed in the back door it keep it open, even at night. We removed it, but it was put back. There was loud music, banging on walls, yelling and screaming until after 5am. We would have changed, but it was game and fair weekend and no rooms were available at any other hotels.
    It was reserved under my husbands name, ***** *********. I don’t think any amount of money is fair for this motel under the circumstances and would request a full refund. More than that, I don’t feel that this motel should continue to advertise and rent to unsuspecting travelers. I just saw and article about concern for this place in the Hamburg newspaper, so clearly the town is aware of the problem.
