Vulcan came to my house to look at the basement, explaining a "pump" would be installed in the furnace room. I was required to remove flooring and walls before work started. Immediately there was an issue with placing the pump where promised and had to be placed exactly where I did not want it. After completion, the pump cover was cemented shut, the edge of where the cement met the floor was uneven and filthy, ceiling tiles were dropping and misplaced, the window well pipes were open-ended and not attached to the drain, the heating elements (baseboard) were extensively damaged and filled with cement, the exit pipe was left in an unsafe way, AND water was still coming through the walls! I called and sent photos re/my concerns and requested they fix them. They were able to scrape away the cement from the edge of the pump cover but heating elements were not repairable and had to be replaced, they didn't address the pipe. They offered a vapor barrier but required me to remove the studs, the remainder of the sheetrock and insulation. 2 other companies evaluated what needed to be done to fix it; Both agreed that the job was not done correctly done while pointing out specific things that should have been done - weep holes required and the positioning of the drain pipe was not an effective. Vulcan did replace the heating elements. They brought the incorrect sized unit and paced it anyway. This caused more than one of the vertical studs to be moved and left out of place. We chose to have the job redone correctly by another company. We had lost all faith in Vulcan doing quality work after how they did the original job. I spoke again to manager who thought I should have "given them a chance to fix it". I requested a refund for what they did do as it was inadequate and non-effective. Weeks have passed and I have not heard from them. Oh, and the heating element they placed does not work!
