I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with the procedures performed on my 5 year old Shepherd Husky **** ***** I brought her to Compassion Vet in New Paltz for a dental consultation and to discuss possible spey. Her dental consultation went well and told **** would need only a Polish. Pre-surgical bloodwork was done and she was cleared for surgery.I brought **** in for her Spey and Dental Wednesday 12/14/22. **** went in for her surgery at 12pm. I was told **** will be ready for pick up at 3:30-4pm. I arrived at Compassion Vet at 4pm to pick **** up. I then went to the counter to pay my bill which was quoted $1,009 - $1,090. I was given my rough balance due of $1,300, which I contested. The addition to the bill was the extraction of ****'s bottom right K9. This was my first aggravation as I brought her in for a dental consultation 11/30/22 and told everything was good and all that was needed was a polish. The tooth was pulled during surgery and I was notified afterwards and faced an increase to my bill. I proceeded to pay the remaining balance of $1,200 and take **** ***** I took **** home and followed all rules accordingly for her recovery. Around 10pm **** went to the door and sat down, within two minutes of her sitting there, there was a puddle of blood on the floor. I called a staff member at Compassion Vet for instructions and was advised to rush **** to the *** I rushed her to ******** at 10:30pm 12/14.This experience was completely traumatizing as I watched my dog lay on the floor fighting for her life just 5 hours after she arrived ***** From my understanding this was a normal procedure and not once was I notified before or even after the surgery that this was high risk and Compassion vet was to bring in a special surgeon because of their worry for bleeding. **** fought for her life from such a "routine" procedure. All compassion has to say is that "they're sorry, but it happens"
