I thought BL&J Contracting did a great job for me. I had cracks in my basement walls. Their fix was to reinforce the old wall from the inside and add concrete to the inside of the blocks. Came out perfectly and solved my problem plus saved me many, many dollars over a more lengthy overkill fix suggested by others. Many thanks BL&J and I would recommend them to anyone.

********* ** Best Company to work with. They were honest, on time and did a great job to my specifications. Redid my side enclosed porch and I would recommend them to anyone. In fact, I will be using this Company for future jobs on my list. In fact, I just hired them to install new wood siding on a portion of my barn.

We (my husband and I are both senior citizens) hired this contractor in early April to remodel 2 full bathrooms in our home. The project was to start late April or early May. Gave them $6,000 to purchase the materials. We tried to use their supplier to find materials we liked but "their supplier website is not up to date with material stock or what they currently offer" so we were told we could look around but said they "want to make sure this bathroom is custom and most importantly, to your liking." So, we purchased several items (all reputable brand name items, primarily ****** tub, toilet, etc. & **** paint). The cost was more than anticipated so we did say that we would cover the cost of materials and pay them the labor costs which were stated in the contract. However, the contractor had said that they would purchase the granite vanity counter but we were told it would be a 6-8 week delay (on April 28th). We found a granite counter (from a reputable, well-known granite-specific supplier) to be fabricated and installed in 4 weeks. It was cost effective to have this supplier install it. After informing the contractor, BL&J told us on May 4th that "your decision to hire another contractor for a portion of the work has not only infringed on the original contract, but has also affected other customers schedules as well. The change in project phases by having an outside contractor involved may negatively affect quality, this is not our goal when completing a project." We were confused since our project was scheduled for the end of April and they had not even started yet. So, they left us with all the materials and no one to install them. The contract actually said "remove and install" items and the word PURCHASE was not specifically stated. I would definitely NOT recommend these contractors. They lack integrity and have an unprofessional manner! Possibly this project was too big for them to handle!
