    Greenleaf Recycling recently bought out ******'s, a garbage collection company, and then immediately raised prices while continuing to collect garbage from customers of ******'s. They are now attempting to collect payment for services that were not requested or utilized.

    I had previously been paying ******'s for their service a year at a time. When Greenleaf took over I had a remaining account balance with ******'s that should have covered another few months of service. I called and spoke to somebody at Greenleaf when they took over, and they could not locate any record of a remaining balance on my ******'s account. (Note that they had no record; not a positive or negative or zero balance). I told them that I will contact them if I wished to transfer my service from ******'s to Greenleaf. I did not contact them again.

    I made absolutely no agreement with greenleaf to pay their exorbitant rates or to continue using their service. I stopped putting my garbage out on their pickup days, yet they continued to bill me. They are now sending letters indicating that I should pay them, with threats to send my bill to collections.

    They will not be paid under any circumstance. I paid for service from ******'s, and never agreed to any service from Greenleaf.

    Response taken by phone:  When we acquired ******s, any credits reported to us were figured into the customer's balances.  Our pricing is contingent on service size.

    The previous balance with ******'s is not relevant. What is relevant is that Green Leaf continued to bill me for trash pickups after being informed that I would not be using their service, after I stopped putting trash out, and before sending me a collections notice. I did not agree to any service with Green Leaf. I told them, on the phone, verbally, that I will not be requiring their service. This was stated in the original complaint. The previous balance with ******'s is not the relevant point in this complaint. Additionally, ******'s was a very lean operation that did not ever send the documents that are being requested. They did not send any kind of statements or invoices to any addresses that had a positive balance and did not have a bill due. That would have been wasteful. I suspect that Green Leaf knows this, and is attempting to use this to trap people into situations like this.
