  Koskinen's was dispatched to me when I called *** due to a dead car battery. The service at the time was very good (that's why two stars instead of one), and the guy said he would email a receipt for the battery he sold me. It went downhill from there. I never received the receipt/invoice (though I was charged on my credit card) despite numerous calls to *** and Koskinen's. At Koskinen's, they gave me an incredible runaround - apparently it's one of those places where nobody is actually responsible for anything, it's always someone else, somewhere else, who never materializes. They kept giving me different people and numbers and times to call, none of which (including messages left) led to anything. Just now, I called once more and spoke to a guy at their Ithaca number, who was very rude and hung up on me. I still don't have the receipt and hanging up on me was not a good indication that I'll ever get one.

  Our insurance, *****, dispatched Koskinen's form Lansing to help us jump start our car. I got the text message about them, and more than an hour and a half later, I got a distressed phone call from my wife, who reported she called back after standing by for more than an hour to show the tow truck where our vehicle was. Instead of running her errands or resting after a couple of short nights following a big travel, she waited in vain for anyone to show up.
  On top of that, after waiting she called to enquire what was going on. She complained, because she had been waiting with no news for more than hour, and although I didn't hear the conversation, I am sure she was reasonable and respectful. To her surprise, she got blasted and assaulted verbally by the person on the phone, to the point that she called me in tears rights after.
  If you are dispatch and are incapable of handling enquiries after you made your customer wait for so long, and are too fragile to handle valid criticism, you should not be answering the phone. I will follow up with ***** to make sure they know exactly what happened.

  I had my car towed from Maplewood Apartments on 11/5 between 8pm-midnight. This is in direct violation of City of Ithaca law (Chapter 317-6) which requires proper notice given to the owner of the vehicle.
  The next morning, I called Koskinen's and they said in order to pick up my car I would need to call them in advance and bring an all cash payment. I called them at 3:50pm and said I was on my way to the address they gave me (*** ****** ****). I arrived at the location at 4:26pm and nobody from the tow company was there. I called 3 more times until someone finally arrived at 4:50pm, an hour after my initial call.
  Ryan pulled up to the lot and demanded that I hand over the $243 in cash immediately. I asked him for proof that he worked for the tow company and if I could inspect my vehicle before payment to ensure there was no damage. He refused both requests and said he did not have any change, telling me to call the owner if I had an issue with it. I spoke to the owner who immediately started to berate and harass me because I was "making it difficult" for them. He said if I wanted my car back I would have to return at 8am the next morning with the registered owner of the vehicle and pay an additional fee.
  I arrived the next morning exactly as had been requested, only to find that my vehicle was damaged and inoperable as confirmed by ****** **** *******.

  I had a flat tire on a Sunday. Josh came out a lot quicker than I expected and my car started quickly. He was very personable and shared a lot of information with me about batteries and warranties that will be helpful to me in the future. Regrettably, I did not get the name of the person who answered the phone. He was very friendly and spent a lot of time trying to assess my situation. Thanks so much!
