    I am writing to document the appalling treatment we have received from Pristine Van Lines. I retained the company to help move my recent college graduate from our home in ** to her new apartment in **. The crew that came to our home in ** on Saturday 6/7 treated us and our things with respect and we watched them carefully load the truck and secure our boxes and furniture. We had agreed that delivery would be from 2-3pm the following day on 6/8 as that was the window in which we had secured the freight elevator. The truck (a different truck than the one we watched our items be secured on the prior day) arrived at 9:45pm. When they opened the back of the truck, nothing was secured in place and it was immediately apparent that our boxes were crushed and broken. While my daughter accompanied two movers to her apartment with the first load, I remained on the loading dock with the lead driver. He pulled out the paperwork and immediately asked for payment of the remaining 50%. I stated that given the condition of the items, I preferred to discuss settlement of the amount with the company on Monday. He then pulled out a large knife and proceeded to toss it from hand to hand while informing me that payment would have to happen then. He discounted the payment by a small amount and I paid the remainder. I was not directly threatened with the knife but it was an incredibly disconcerting experience and was clearly intended to intimidate as it successfully did.During the remainder of the unloading the crew was loud in the residential hallways despite the late hour and was sometimes rude and unpleasant. They did not reassemble any furniture and had lost the screws required for reassembly of her bed in transit. We were treated with total and utter disrespect.
