At 10:30 PM that night, the head mover spoke to the owner (not in EnglishI) and showed me on his phone that the new bill that was $2,880 -- $1,375 more than the estimate!They would not leave my apartment until I transferred the difference to them. I am a single woman. This was intimidating and a bit frightening. I wouldn't wish the experience on anyone. I tried to use a credit card as part of the payment, but they again said their "credit card system" is down. Again, I live in a one-bedroom apartment alone, and the move was TWO blocks away. I'm asking for $1,300 not just because it was over the top, but because of the anxiety they caused me and the ways I feel I was mislead and possibly ripped off. (Ex: Is there a maximum amount a mover can charge over the amount quoted?

    Good day, first of all, the customer refused to provide us with the ********************** inventory and was difficult to reach prior the move. Second: every customer has a right to request a free in-home inspection within a reasonable time prior move day and she did not. Third, ******************* made reservation at the last minute and never expressed any concerns with any of the issues raised in the complaint. Fourth, ******************* failed and I believe purposely did not inform us about the sofa what was an oversize object and had to be carried by stairs out of her old apartment and then by stairs into her new apartment. And fifth: it's the customer's responsibility to have all clothes, books, dishes packed and ready to go so our crew will not spend any extra time.

    At the end we charge for the time we spend completing the job plus a fee for a sofa carry. There were no hidden fees, extra charges of undisclosed nature (customer was informed about sofa fee right at the moment the issue became apparent and she gave her verbal consent). Our company never demands cash and takes all major credit cards as can be seen from the initial emails to the customer.
