    I went to ziebart in Jamestown NY to get my truck undercoated. they did so and bragged about their customer service. since the day I had the Truck undercoated I was under the impression that they were inspecting my truck on an annual basis and that if rust occurred they would tell me about it and take care of the issue. since there was an annual inspection and touch up process I was under the impression that they were on top of any rust issues and would tell me about an issue that would need repaired. I found out that my passenger front door had rusted out on the bottom and would need to be replaced. I was shocked as ziebart had never said anything about a pending problem. I called and I was informed that their guarantee and great customer service only worked if I had had the truck undercoated the day I purchased it. so all the great service was none existent for me and My Truck!!

    BBB spoke to Chad at the business and the following was relayed:The customer came in on 9/4/2020 for rust protection. His vehicle was 3 years old and had approximately 36,000 at that time. There is no warranty on a used truck, only new vehicles; a new vehicle needs to have less than 12,000 miles or less than 12 months from manufacturing date. A new vehicle does get 10 year coverage/protection warranty. A used vehicle gets a maintenance warranty where they come in once a year and we touch up the vehicle. If the customer gets the area fixed somewhere and brings it back, we will touch up that area at no cost to the customer.

       Purchased new 2015 Chevy Silverado. Dealership recommends Ziebat Rustproof & spray in bed liner. Truck taken directly to Ziebart of Jamestown by dealership people before I took ownership. Ziebart warranty given, Truck taken back to Ziebart for yearly inspection & respray. Never informed by Ziebart of possibility of product not working properly or damage to frame. Truck taken to locaL mechanic for rear breaks. Local mechanic reports cracks and holes in frame - excessive damage from rust. Truck taken directly to Ziebart of jamestown Ziebart refused to look at the truck for two weeks. Truck will not pass NYS inspection as frame has rot holes and cracks. Ziebart has been difficult to work with.  Ziebart has Ziebart has a questionable welder. Ziebart will only weld frame. Truck has less than 74,000 miles. Not comfortable with patch on frame. Prefer new frame or replacement truck.

    We have been in constant contact with the customer even prior to the complaint filed with Better Business Bureau. We previously offered to have the customer bring the vehicle to the shop of his choice and we will pay for the repair. Currently, we are waiting for the customer to schedule and get done.
