      About 30 days ago, I've contacted BPU in order to remove their water meter entirely from my property because I kept receiving an invoice each month even after cancelling water service. I was told that they would drop a form in the mail that will acknowledge abandonment of water service , to this day that never happened , yet they were much quicker to send me another bill. Back in april 2021 , I reported a lost garbage container at the same location , I was told that they would conduct an investigation and would issue a new one if the lost one couldn't be located and to this day I never received a phone call or email as to the status of the container. An explanation would be appreciated , because this is no way to conduct business.

      According to the account records, abandonment paperwork was sent to the customer 11/14/22 and again on 12/13/22.  Bills will continue to be mailed out until the completed paperwork is received back from the customer.  As for the garbage can, notes show that the service was discontinued and the garbage can was retrieved.  An attempt to call the customer 5/2/22 (owner did not contact us until Friday 4/29/22)) was unsuccessful.  No answer and unable to leave a message.  Customer may contact the office to reinstate electric and garbage service to have a new can delivered.

      I have been recycling 4 plus years and they are not giving me credit for it. Calling me a liar and I don't know what I'm talking about. Being very Nast about it. They are supposed to be giving u credit

      On Sunday 8/14/2022, this customer emailed the garbage department stating “I have a question I recycle almost every week. But I’m not being credited for it and why. Address is ******. My name is **** ****.” After an email response was sent to the customer on Monday 8/15/2022 requesting the serial number of the recycling bin the customer had in their possession, they replied with a serial number and wrote “have had this bucket for 5 years at this address never got a credit for recycling”. 

      Our records indicate that the former resident had reported that recycling bin missing 3 years ago so a replacement bin had been issued on 4/10/2019 and the bin customer was referencing had been removed from the account and marked as a lost/stolen bin. (The current customer had not signed up for service at that address until 11/6/2019.) The scanning history for this recycling bin was reviewed and there was no usage recorded.

      A phone call was placed to the customer to discuss. The customer was asked to leave the container outside so the BPU could test it to see if the RFID chip was not capturing any activity if the customer had been using it, and a replacement bin would be assigned to the account. The customer stated that our system is wrong, and we are liars. Customer stated they had lived there for 5 years and wanted a refund for the whole time as they always recycled with that recycling bin. Our records indicate that this customer has had utility accounts at 7 different addresses within the past 5 years. When asking questions to try to clarify what was going on, the customer became agitated and started to curse and insult the representative. Customer then stated “You can’t have my bin back. Ha! You’re not getting your hands on it. Ha! I’m keeping it. How do you like that you stupid *******?” Customer then hung up the phone.

      Since that date, we have been checking the customer’s residence weekly on the garbage collection day and there has been no recycling items or recycling bins placed out for collection.

      I have lived at this address for 5 years. I never called them to report a missing  recycling bucket. They are lying.. when I talked to them they were very rude. Told me they would get the bucket no matter where it is. They told me I can't get a new one till the investigate it. And they never scan the bucket. I feel they are being unfair. They owe me money for recycling and I want it. Not far. My landlord can vouch we have been at this address since 2018
