I hired this company to complete some HVAC work at my house. We agreed on a price, and he began work, he came back three or four times with different issues of not being able to complete the work in a timely manner, first, he didn’t have the right stuff he needed, then they shorted him on supplies, then he got a cold, etc. Once he did complete the work on October 19, 2023… we paid him in full with cash, and soon after he left, we realize the work was not done correctly or efficiently. We contacted him and the exchanges started there. A lot of our ductwork was not even connected, or was half done. He cut into our work and did not secure any ductwork like it should have been. We contacted the owner and he apologized and said he would refund us the money (we have in writing) for labor, and would only keep the money for parts. We agreed on this, and he told us he was working out an itemized bill of the parts, and then we never heard from him, and he blocked us. Under further investigation and digging around on the Internet, we have found out that this his business is not licensed- and he cannot legally perform this work.

I began work at the Glimpse residence on Thursday, 10/5. I had to order all of the material from a supplier and wait for some to come in as the supplier did not have it in stock. I did take a day off due to illness, with COVID going around again and the customers having an infant, I did not feel it was in anyones best interest for me to show up there that day. I resumed work once my symptoms subsided. I was running duct work for a two room addition they put on their mobile home. The duct work needs to be strapped up in mobile homes so it is not laying on the pad beneath. Upon completion on Tuesday, 10/17, I turned the furnace on and checked all the duct work to make sure everything was set and it was. Later that evening, the couple reached out to inform me one of the duct work pieces was not connected, they were nto happy and wanted a refund. I offered to come check out the issue immediately, and was told "no, I will fix it, we just want our money back". I predict what happened was one of the straps gave way after the heat was turned on to run some, and the duct pipe slipped the hole. I do not know if this was the case though since I was not allowed back, despite offering several times. A lawyer, the Better Business Bureau and bad reviews were threatened against me, so I did offer via text message to refund them the cost of labor. After some thought, I realized it was not fair to me to provide a refund for work I completed when I was not allowed to go back and fix any issues. I set up a meeting to consult with my lawyer on how to proceed and I blocked their phone numbers for the time being because the complainant and her husband were harassing me several times a day with phone calls. The photos they have submitted are NOT how I left things. I believe Lexi's husband, Matt, went in and tried to fix whatever it was himself and made a mess of things, and are now trying to frame and accuse me in an effort to bully me into them getting money back from me.

I have a DBA notarized certificate with Onondaga County and my business is fully insured through MM&D insurance. I am in compliance with all regulations required of me.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

There are  many more wrong doings in our home- the attached pictures are just some of them. There is also a hole in our return duct attached to our furnace that we have not touched since we left.

On another note, this is all on record with the County and the phone company. The owner lied several times and can be proven- we contacted him the evening after completion, and he did not answer. He answered the NEXT day, after I (Lexi) did have to leave a voicemail stating how unhappy we were with the work. The actions of lawyers, BBB & bad reviews are not threats, they are actions. He only offered to come back and fix it once, which we did decline because he clearly doesn’t have the knowledge to be doing this work, or it wouldn’t have looked like this.

I can also provide a signed statement from another business where Kaleb admits to not being a “DBA yet”. The other business wrote him a check made out to “Klimate Kontrol” and he returned it to the business saying “I’m not an actual DBA yet, I need the check written out to me personally”. This was all said AFTER he performed the work on their business.

I can also provide proof that I, Lexi, only called him one time. Him stating that me and my husband called him and texted him several times is not true. On the other hand, my husband did absolutely text and call him several times because he informed us that he was going to give us a refund. He never informed us that he had changed his mind. Actually, he started the conversation one morning (over text message) that he reached out to his supplier and an itemized receipt was ready for pick up. I (Lexi) personally called his supplier and he never requested an itemized pick up and they had no idea what he was talking about. They also advise me that he was not in fact, a business, and to definitely take some legal action. We just want Kaleb to make it right.

    Regards,
