    [Your Answer Here]

After numerous prior attempts to contact ***************, he picked up my phone call (which I made on another person's phone) on Oct 26. He said he was out of country. I had to ask several times when he expected to return and if I could arrange to retrieve my door when he returns. He was vague and non-committal, and finally said he'd be back the first week of Nov. I responded with a text thanking him for returning my door when he is back in town. After not hearing back from him, I left a phone and text message on 11/6 asking for a response within the next 48 hours. When I did not hear back from him, on 11/8, I again attempted to call and left a VM that if I did not hear back by the end of the day that I would contact the police, since I was at my **** end, feeling frustrated, and did not know what else to do. This is the first time my tone was angry and made a threat. I also sent a text with the same message. That got a response. He sent a nasty text: "Go ahead and call the police *****. I am at WORK. Tell the police I have your broken moldy old door you want back so desperately that's been sitting in your garage for the past 10 years collecting dust. You need to get a grip." I probably shoul not have responded but I did: "Have you broken the door? Why? The door has not been in the garage for 10 years. Why does it take a threat to get you to respond? Why have you made this contentious? YOU need to get a grip!" I have never had this kind of experience and will no longer try to amicably settle this. The initial agreement was that he was going to take the door home and clean it up at his convenience, then replace the track on the door frame. I work too and have wasted a lot of time trying to chase him down. Replacing the door won't cost a fortune, if needed, but I am on a limited budget--and I shouldn't have to pay for this.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

    Sincerely,

dimensions he provided were an inch off. While he was here, he installed a new mailbox and took a wood folding door that had been in storage and agreed he would treat mold, pick-up/replace hardware for door track to replace in bathroom. He also agreed to pick up parts to fix a toilet. Last contact was on 9/15. ******* responded apologetically to a text I sent 4 days earlier checking to see when he was available to f/u; he said he would try to come by over w/e but explained he was very busy. We agreed to postpone the 3 repairs since I would be out of town. "Look forward to working with you soon, " were the last words I heard from him. I texted him on 9/25, 27, 10/1, & 8, and left many VMs but received NO response. My last text, out of frustration, I said I would contact the BBB if I did not hear back & asked where I could pick up my door. NO response. I do not have his new address in ***********, where he said he lived. Your help trying to get my door back is appreciated! Thank you!
